DE SMET — Miller’s Alex Schumacher captured two first-place finishes at Thursday’s De Smet Invitational. 

Schumacher won the 800-meter run (2:03.67 and the 1,600-meter run (4:47.55), while teammate Pierce Baumberger won the 3,200-meter run (10:59.78).

Also in boys action, Miller’s Isaak Hunter was a double winner in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.76) and 300-meter hurdles (:44.94). 

Hamlin’s Cristhian Rodriguez captured titles in the shot put (43-6) and discus (142-6). 

McCook Central/Montrose’s Paul Kaffar was a double winner in the long jump (19-6) and triple jump (41-5). 

Wolsey-Wessington’s Caleb Richmond won the 400-meter dash (:53.76), placed second in the 800-meter run (2:09.42) and finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (:24.45).

Castlewood’s Camron Eng won the 100-meter dash (:11.67) and placed fifth in the 200-meter mash (:24.53). 

The Hamlin boys won the 400-meter relay (:45.90), 800-meter relay (1:36.28) and 1,600-meter relay (3:47.25).

In girls action, Iroquois/Lake Preston’s Adison Moore won the 100-meter dash (:12.82) and 200-meter dash (:26.65). 

Iroquois/Lake Preston’s Hadlee Holt captured titles in the shot put (37-6.25) and discus (125-9.5). 

Howard’s Melanie Calmus placed second in the 100-meter dash (:12.90), 200-meter dash (:27.55) and third in the long jump (15-3.5). 

De Smet’s Hazel Luethmers won the high jump (5-0), placed third in the 400-meter dash (1:07.92) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (:29.04). 

The Sunshine Bible Academy girls won the 800-meter relay (1:57.01) and 1,600-meter relay (4:26.10).

The Clark/Willow Lake girls won the 400-meter relay (:55.66) and 3,200-meter relay (11:01.66).
