MITCHELL — Miller boys and Chamberlain girls cross-country runners shined at Saturday’s Mitchell Invitational at Wild Oak Golf Course. 

Miller’s Pierce Baumberger and Alex Schumacher finished first and second, respectively, in the boys race. Baumberger covered the 4,000-meter distance in 13-minutes and :58.43 seconds, finishing ahead of Schumacher (14:04.50). Northwestern’s Lincoln Woodring (14:35.06), Nathan Melius (14:54.52) and Mitchell Christian’s Silas Holdeman (14:57.50) rounded out the top-five boys finishers. Miller’s Tyson Kindle (15:35.06), Isaiah Gortmaker (15:35.72) and Kellan Hurd (15:49.25) finished 10th, 11th and 14th, respectively. 

On the girls side, Chamberlain’s Kinsey Evans, Allison Hough, Aine Graesser and Kylah Biggins were the top-four placers. Evans covered the 4,000-meter distance in 15:50.22 to earn first-place honors. Hough (16:29.75), Graesser (17:13.62) and Biggins (17:34.22) rounded out the top-four finishers. Andes Central/Dakota Christian’s Lexi Schroeder (17:49.59) placed fifth.
