Mobridge-Pollock boys, Ipswich girls claim team titles at Rotary Relays

MOBRIDGE — The Mobridge-Pollock boys and Ipswich girls captured team titles at Saturday’s Rotary Relays. 

The Mobridge-Pollock boys edged Ipswich (124-113) for the team title. Timber Lake (97) placed third. The Ipswich girls racked up 119 points, ahead of Mobridge-Pollock (81) and Herreid/Selby Area (79). 

Ipswich’s Kyle Hettich won the 100-meter dash (:11.36), the 200-meter dash (:23.29) and was a member of the winning 400-meter relay (:45.00) and winning 800-meter relay (1:33.89) teams. 

Ipswich’s Rasmus Loken (11-0) and Brody Davis (9-0) placed first and second, respectively, in the pole vault. 

Timber Lake’s Gracen Hansen won the 300-meter hurdles (:41.14) and placed second in the triple jump (38-7.75). Hansen ran the anchor leg on Timber Lake’s winning 1,600-meter relay (3:38.59). 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Simon Fried won the triple jump (40-11.5) and finished second in the 300-meter hurdles (:41.22). 

Herreid/Selby Area’s Gavin Hirsch won the 1,600-meter run (4:55.83) and placed second in the 3,200-meter run (11:32.56). 

North Central’s Gabe Johnson earned a first-place finish in the 3,200-meter run (11:06.42) and finished second in the 1,600-meter run (4:58.35). 

In girls action, Ipswich’s Jalyssa Hutson (9-0) and Marley Guthmiller (8-9) placed first and second, respectively, in the pole vault. Teammate Kathryn Kilber (8-0) placed fourth. 

Ipswich’s Madisyn Gellhaus won the 1,600-meter run in 5:23.17, edging out Mobridge-Pollock’s Heidi Olson (5:25.53). Olson won the 3,200-meter run in 12:50.42. 

Hutson (:18.55) and Guthmiller (:19.00) finished second and third, respectively, in the 100-meter hurdles. Guthmiller added a third-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles (:54.04). 

Herreid/Selby Area’s Breanna Jochim won the 100-meter dash (:12.90) and was a member of the winning 400-meter relay (:52.07). 

Highmore-Harrold’s Autumn Fallis won the 300-meter hurdles (:53.02) and finished third in the 1,600-meter run (5:48.61).
