O'Gorman's Jacob Stewart, William Sanford in tie for 95th at High School Golf National Invitational

PINEHURST, N.C. — Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Jacob Stewart and William Sanford are tied for 95th place after Day 1 of the 2022 Boys High School Golf National Invitational.

Stewart and Sanford both carded a six-over-par 78 at the prestigious invitational made up of the top high school golfers across the country. The invitational is a 3-day, 54-hole stroke play event including team and individual competition. Competition rounds will take place on Pinehurst Resort No. 5, No. 6, and No. 7 courses.

Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Will Hurd is one shot behind his teammates and is tied in 118th place. Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Mac Drake (84, T-187), Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Radley Mauney (85, T-202), Tea Area’s Derek Anderson (86, T-217), Tea Area’s Eric Munson (86, T-217), Tea Area’s Keeton Newborg (86, T-217), Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Liam Sarmiento (86, T-217), Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Taten Mauney (86, T-217) and Tea Area’s Brady Sabers (95, T-233) round out the South Dakota golfers after the first day.
