PLATTE — Platte-Geddes swept Hanson in straight sets in Region 5A volleyball action Tuesday. The set scores were 25-23, 25-14 and 25-17.

Karly VanDerWerff paced Platte-Geddes with 17 kills while adding a solo block. Cadence Van Zee added 16 kills and had an ace. Baleigh Nachtigal finished her night with 43 assists and three aces. Kori VanDerWerff finished with eight kills and Emerson Ringling had seven kills. 

Stats for Hanson were not reported. 

Northwestern 3, Britton-Hecla 0

MELLETTE —- Northwestern advanced in the Region 1B volleyball tournament Tuesday sweeping Britton-Hecla. The set scores were 25-9, 25-10 and 25-17. 

Ashley Haven powered the Northwestern attack with 20 kills, five aces, one solo block and one assisted block. Ella Boekelheide led the Wildcats with 16 assists, also adding seven kills and eight digs and three aces. Tara Blachford contributed three aces while Taylor Vetter had four kills. 

Tiyanna Schott led Britton-Hecla with five kills and a block. Jayden Bender had two aces and three assists. Heather Storbakken hit on nine-of-nine serves while having eight assists and five digs.

Burke 3, Colome 0

BURKE — Burke swept Colome in Region 5B volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-2, 25-18 and 25-13.

Burke’s Kailee Frank finished with 16 kills, while Paige Bull had 11 kills and two blocks. Emmie Hausmann added four kills, five digs and seven aces. Ava Sargent posted four aces. Elle Johnson added eight digs.

For Colome, Keasha Kartak had four kills and Shaleena Kingsley posted three kills. Raylynn Dehning and Aspyn McKenzie had six digs apiece. Kingsley added four blocks. Dehning had seven assists. Westlie Cahoy added six digs. 

Gregory 3, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 1

BURKE — Gregory defeated Andes Central/Dakota Christian in a Region 5B volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-19, 25-16, 22-25 and 25-22.

Gregory’s Regan Graesser had 15 kills, 10 digs and five aces. Raesha Beck had 12 kills. Jordan Svatos posted 15 digs and Ella Sperl had 10 digs. Jordan Vosika had 28 digs. London Flakus had four aces and Ashlyn Vosika had three aces. 

For ACDC, Audrey DeHaan had nine kills. Cambria Ronfeldt posted 12 kills, while Mahpiya Irving had 14 assists and five kills. Claire Johnson added seven digs. Ona’ka Doren had 10 assists and five aces. Claire Johnson posted four aces.  

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Langford 0

TULARE — Hitchcock-Tulare swept Langford in straight sets Tuesday advancing in the Region 1B volleyball tournament. The set scores were 25-12, 25-12 and 25-22.

Katelyn Schroeder reached 1,000 career kills during the match and paced Hitchcock-Tulare with 17 kills and a team-leading 19 digs. Isabel Gilbert added eight kills and six assisted blocks for the Patriots. Ella Johnson dished out 30 assists and led with three aces. Gracyn Bixler had six assists and two aces while Cambree Hoekman had 13 digs. 

Elliana Darling led Langford with four kills while Megan Gustafson added two kills. Tawnee Nelson finished with 10 assists. Bayleann Moen led with 18 digs while Darling added 14 digs. 

Colman-Egan 3, Dell Rapids St. Mary 0

COLMAN — Colman-Egan swept Dell Rapids St. Mary in Region 3B volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-13, 29-27 and 25-9.

Colman-Egan’s Lanie Mousel recorded 16 assists and five kills. Kaylee Voelker finished with 18 assists. Anna Zwart logged eight kills and three block assists. Brynlee Landis added 14 digs, five kills and four blocks. Daniela Lee had nine kills and 17 digs. Presley Luze had 22 digs. 

Dell Rapids St. Mary stats were not reported.

Chester 3, Howard 0

CHESTER — Chester swept Howard in Region 3B volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-7, 25-18 and 25-4.

Chester’s Jacy Wolf recorded 12 kills, 10 digs and seven assists. Lily VanHal had nine kills and 18 assists. Emmerson Eppard and Katelyn Huntimer had five aces apiece. Addison Bates and Emilie Bleeker had two blocks apiece. Emery Larson had 13 digs.

For Howard, Abby Aslesen had 12 digs, three kills and three assists. Marissa Dornbusch had three kills and Taryn Mentele had four assists. Dakota Spader had seven digs. 

Ethan 3, Canistota 1

CHESTER — Ethan topped Canistota in a four-set Region 3B high school volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 27-25, 21-25, 25-23 and 25-12.

Ethan’s Marissa Storm recorded 18 kills, while Ava Lingemann posted 17 kills and 30 digs. Maddy Bartscher logged 37 assists and two aces. Claire Mellegaard had 39 digs. Rachel Klock posted two blocks. Marissa Storm had an ace. 

For Canistota, Sierra McGregor had 11 kills, while Natalee Hofer posted 10 kills and 14 digs. Bailey Spicer had 19 assists. Natalie Becker recorded 38 digs and Kayla Papendick posted 25 digs. 

Flandreau 3, Florence-Henry 2

HAMLIN — Flandreau defeated Florence-Henry in five grueling sets Tuesday, advancing in the Region 2A volleyball playoffs. The set scores were 25-22, 24-26, 23-25, 25-22 and 15-5. 

Ashlynn Varruska paced Florence-Henry with three aces and 43 assists. Caylin Kelly put down 25 kills, had 24 digs, a block and two assisted blocks for the Falcons. Taylor Watson finished with19 kills and fifteen digs and an ace. Marsha McQuinn totalled 15 digs while Kate Hulscher finished with eight kills.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton 3, Bon Homme 0

PLATTE — Mount Vernon/Plankinton swept Bon Homme in Region 5A volleyball action Tuesday. The set scores were 25-15, 26-24 and 25-24. 

Reagan Rus led Mount Vernon/Plankinton with 15 kills and two blocks. Vanessa Hoffman contributed 16 assists and a team-leading 22 digs. Whitney Payne led the Titans with three aces on Tuesday.

Stats for Bon Homme were not reported. 

Centerville 3, Menno 1

CENTERVILLE — Centerville advanced in the Region 4B volleyball tournament with a four-set win over Menno. The set scores were 12-25, 25-22, 25-20 and 25-23. 

Emma Marshall led the Centerville attack with nine kills while adding four digs and a block. Lillee Shearer had eight kills, nine digs and five aces for Centerville while Lillie Eide had an ace, nine digs a block and five kills. Keira Austin had seven digs and 30 assists for Centerville. 

Ashton Massey led Menno with 15 kills, six blocks and four digs. Joslynn Fischer had two aces, 11 digs, two blocks, five kills and 32 assists. Elyanna Ulmer had 28 digs and five kills while Taylor Freier had 22 digs, a block and a kill. 

Miller 3, McLaughlin 0

MILLER — Miller advanced in the Region 6A volleyball tournament Tuesday sweeping Mclaughlin in straight sets. The set scores were 25-9, 25-3 and 25-10. 

Paige Werdel led the Miller hitters coming up with 15 kills. Heather Resel led with 31 assists while also adding three aces. Aleah Schlechter had seven aces, eight kills and three digs. Jolie Palmer led Miller with five digs and Gracen Werdel had seven kills. Shaylee Anderberg had three aces, three kills and a dig for Miller. 

Kimimilia White Mountain led McLaughlin with an ace and two blocks. Lainee Brown Otter had an ace and six digs. Kaylee Martin had an ace and Jessie Brown Otter had two digs. 

Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Great Plains Lutheran 0

ESTELLINE — Elkton-Lake Benton swept Great Plains Lutheran in Region 2A volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 28-26, 25-18 and 25-21.

ELB’s Andrea Renkly finished with 13 kills, eight digs and two aces. Kylie Ramlo added 10 kills and 17 digs. Maya Jensen logged six kills, while Aubree Bales had six kills and 12 digs. Tevan Erickson logged 35 assists and seven digs. Ella Crofutt had 10 digs and two aces. 

Great Plains Lutheran stats were not reported. 

Madison 3, Tri-Valley 0

MADISON — Class A No. 4 Madison swept Tri-Valley in Region 3A volleyball action on Tuesday night. Set scores were 25-14, 25-11 and 25-20. 

Audrey Nelson paced Madison with 17 kills and added three assisted blocks and a solo block. Amanda Vacanti finished with five kills and five aces while Callie McDermott had eight aces and 10 kills. Keara Wagner had eight digs while Lydia Nelson had two solo blocks. Karley Theede had two solo blocks and an assisted block to go along with 27 assists. Theede recorded her 1,000th career assist. 

Maddie Wenzel and Emery Person each had five kills to lead Tri-Valley. Neveah Grann led the Mustangs with three aces while Kenzie Atwood and Julia Mausyzcki each had 10 digs. Abby Wagner had 13 assists for Tri-Valley. 

Elk Point-Jefferson 3, Vermillion 0

ELK POINT — Elk Point-Jefferson swept Vermillion in a Region 4A volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-18, 25-13 and 25-21. 

Bentlee Kollbaum led Elk Point-Jefferson with 15 kills while adding an ace, 16 digs and an assist. Natalie Huertz finished with 13 kills and three blocks while Ashley Brewer had 12 kills, two digs and a block. Courtney Brewer dished out 38 assists to go along with a kill, two aces and nine digs.

Dakota Valley 3, Parker 0

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley swept Parker in a Region 4A volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-18, 25-7 and 25-7.

Dakota Valley’s Sophie Tuttle logged eight kills, five digs and one ace. Claire Munch logged six kills, four digs and one ace. Emerson Mead posted five kills and two blocks. Sammy Kimball recorded three kills. Jacee Squire posted nine assists and one ace. Bria Perryman finished with six kills and four aces. Stella Carlson had seven aces, while Lauren Olhausen posted three kills. Cam Sommervold had three kills and one block. 

For Parker, Halle Berens recorded six kills. Aleyska Peterson posted three kills and two blocks. Jenna Van Velxen had two kills and four digs. Mara Mohr posted seven assists and three digs. 

Dell Rapids 3, McCook Central/Montrose 0

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids swept McCook Central/Montrose in Region 3A volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-13, 25-13 and 25-6.

Dell Rapids’ Madelynn Henry finished with 14 kills and three digs. Lauryn Kloth added seven kills and four blocks. Clara Justice had three kills and two blocks. Sophi Randall recorded five digs and 23 assists. 

McCook Central/Montrose stats were not reported. 

Sioux Falls Christian 3, West Central 0

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Christian swept West Central in Region 3A volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-12, 25-10 and 25-6.

Sioux Falls Christian’s Sidney Oostra finished with nine kills and eight digs. Brietta Tims and Taylor Byl posted eight kills apiece. Maggie Keepers finished with seven digs, while Chloe Bosma had five digs. Addisen Barber logged 30 assists and four digs. Katelyn Maas had five kills and one block.

For West Central, Marissa Dobbs posted five kills and five assists. Maddy Ingalls and Ella Harden each had blocks. Jocelyn Nilson had seven digs, while Avery Northdurft had four digs. Elle Lienhard had four assists. 

Brandon Valley 3, Mitchell 0

BRANDON — Brandon Valley picked up a straight sets win over Mitchell in high school volleyball action Tuesday.  The set scores were 25-23, 25-15 and 25-20. 

Riya Sheley led Brandon Valley with 36 assists, one block and nine aces. Jersie Melcher (11) and Abby Gruber (11) combined for 22 kills for Brandon Valley. Sydney Benson (18) and Jayaunna Stroh (9) combined for 27 digs while Kennedi Boomsma led with two blocks. Alli Gawareck added two aces for Brandon Valley.
