RAPID CITY — The Pierre Governors repeated as South Dakota girls state champions at the Monument on Friday. 

Pierre scored 167 points, ahead of Canton (134) and Spearfish (72). Lakota Tech (71) and Rapid City Stevens rounded out the top-five teams. 

Ciara McFarling (285) was the only Pierre wrestler to win a title, her third consecutive. Sydney Uhrig (106), Gianna Stangeland (132) and Marlee Shorter (190) all reached the finals for Pierre. 

Canton had a solid tournament and claimed three championships. Sara Schroeder (113), Carlee Laubach (170) and Zoe Adam all won titles for the Co-Hawks. 

Maraia Kruske (106) and Taylor Gravemen (113) won titles for Spearfish. 

Other championships were claimed by Harrisburg’s Regina Stoeser (120), Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon’s Peyton Hellman (126), Yankton’s Naveah Leonard (142) and Aberdeen Central’s Katrina Gibson (154)
