Philip boys, Lemmon girls claim Region 5B cross-country championships

PHILIP — The Philip boys and Lemmon girls won cross-country team titles at Wednesday’s Region 3B meet run on the Lake Waggoner Golf Course.

The Philip boys scored eight points, ahead of Lemmon (28) and Dupree (36). Newell (39) and White River (42) rounded out the top-five teams. The Lemmon girls claimed the top three individual placings on their way to a perfect score of six points, ahead of Harding County (20) and Newell (28). 

Philip’s Jack Peterson won the boys race covering the 5,000-meter course in 17:02, ahead of teammate Baylor Burns (17:14) and Lemmon’s Micah Reede (17:30). Newell’s Clint Winkler (17:34) and Philip’s Creston Burns (17:38) rounded out the top-five boys finishers. 

Lemmon’s Brynn Odenbach won the girls race in 21:55, ahead of teammates Chel Odenbach (22:03) and Briley Gilbert (22:34). Wall’s Taylee Dartt (22:48) and Harding County’s Kalla Padden (22:51) rounded out the top-five.
