PIERRE — A year after finishing fourth in the 100-meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash at the state track meet, Pierre’s Kali Ringstmeyer is laying the groundwork for a solid senior campaign.
At Tuesday’s Bob Judson Invitational in Pierre, Ringstmeyer won the 100-meter dash (:12.01) and 200-meter dash (:26.67). Ringstmeyer also anchored the team of Emlyn Swanson, Charlee Williams-Smith to a win in the 400-meter relay (:48.86) in school record time.
The Pierre girls also had event winners from Williams-Smith in the 400-meter dash (:58.93), Emery Larson in the 800-meter run (2:27.73) and 1,600-meter run (5:24.55), the 1,600-meter relay (4:06.88), 3,200-meter relay (10:24.76) and sprint medley relay (4:38.32).
Field event winners for the Governors came from Sorrinne Ekle in the shot put (34-08) and Emlyn Swanson in the triple jump (35-04).
Potter County had a pair of winners as Jaycee Stevens won the 3,200-meter run (13:07.09) and Dannika Kaup in the 300-meter hurdles (:49.59).
Jones County freshman BreAna Aske won the long jump (16-08.25) and finished third in the 200-meter dash (:27.86) and second in the 400-meter dash (1:01.91.
The Pierre boys dominated the relays winning the 400-meter relay (:43.72), 800-meter relay (1:32.58), 1,600-meter relay (3:33.49) and 3,200-meter relay (8:37.46).
Individual wins for the Governors came from Karson Walti in the 100-meter dash (:11.09), Carson Stoeser in the 200-meter dash (:23.39), Caleb Morris in the 800-meter run (4:25.14), Jim Neddo in the 3,200-meter run (11:06.12) and Lincoln Dilges in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.43) and 300-meter hurdles (:44.19).
Field event winners for the Governors came from EJ Boutchee in the shot put (52-01), Cactus Korkow in the discus (126-04), Colter Babcock in the javelin (160-09), Corde Austin in the high jump (5-10), Carson Stoeser in the long jump (21-11.25).
