RAPID CITY — It has been a busy few days for Pine Ridge senior Semni Big Crow.

On Dec. 11, he played in the Indigenous Bowl in the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

After the completion of Sunday’s game, Big Crow was one of two athletes presented with a check for $10,000.

“That award went to two young men who show sportsmanship, on and off the field,” Pine Ridge football coach Teddy Pedregon said. ”The money will go toward the Pine Ridge football program.”

On Tuesday, Big Crow captured a Lakota Nation wrestling title with a 6-4 win over Winner Area’s August Bartels in the 145-pound division. His Pine Ridge Thorpe wrestling team finished second in the boys team competition at the 2022 Lakota Nation Invitational.
