Reagan O'Neill wins three events to pace Bennett County to Region 7A title

MISSION — Bennett County seventh-grader Reagan O’Neill won the 100-meter dash (:12.70), 100-meter hurdles (:16.30) and long jump (16-8.75) to pace the Warriors to Thursday’s Region 7A girls track and field title.

The Bennett County girls racked up 144 points, ahead of Todd County (121) and Winner (117). The Winner boys scored 142 points, ahead of Bennett County (121) and Todd County (113) to win the Region 7A boys title.

Other Bennett County champions were Rosa Ainslie in the 3,200-meter run (14:19.53), Harley Harris in the 300-meter hurdles (51.78) and the 3,200-meter relay (14:09.60)

Winner’s Keelie Kuil won the 200-meter dash (:25.86) and 400-meter dash (1:01.44). The Warriors also got wins from Karlee Brozik in the triple jump (32-9), Jenaya Schrader in the discus (101-3). Winner also won the 1,600-meter relay (5:09.93) and the 800-meter relay (1:53.05).

The Red Cloud girls had a solid day winning the 400-meter relay (:53.8) and breaking their school record. Other winners for the Lady Crusaders came from Rarity Cournoyer in the 800-meter run (2:36.14), Kennedy Fridia in the shot put (33-9) and Ashlan Carlow in the high jump (4-9). 

In boys action Winner’s Aiden Barfuss won the 100-meter dash (:10.97) and ran on the winning 400-meter relay (:45.68). The Warriors also captured relay titles in the 1,600-meter relay (3:43.51), the sprint medley relay (3:51.59) and the 3,200-meter relay (10:31.31). Shawn Hammerbeck picked up region titles in the shot put (44-0.25) and discus (122-0).

Bennett County picked up region titles from Neil Hicks in the 400-meter dash (:54.99), Tyce Gropper in the 3,200 meter run (10:35.36) and 300-meter hurdles (:45.79). Rush O’Neill won the 110-meter hurdles (:16.74) and high jump (5-4). 

Little Wound’s Daelen LeBeaux won the long jump (19-10.25) and finished second in the 100-meter dash (:11.35).

Todd County sophomore Ty Valandra won the 200-meter dash (:23.99) and anchored the Falcons winning 800-meter relay (1:38.79). Jayce Allen won the 800-meter run (2:15.85).

Pine Ridge’s Julian Weston won the triple jump (36-11) and was second in the long jump (19-6.5). Thorpe senior David Tuttle won the 1,600 meter run (4:43.08).
