Winner 48, Madison 45

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures as Winner edged Madison in boys basketball action at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Saturday. 

Finn Bartels led the Warriors with 12 points, while Blake Volmer and Slade Cournoyer scored 11 points apiece. Volmer added nine rebounds and Cournoyer handed out four assists. Jackson Vesely had seven points and Ethan Bartels grabbed nine rebounds. 

Madison’s Aiden Jensen logged 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. Peyton Wolf followed with 13 points and four rebounds. Nate Ricke added 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Crow Creek 57, Kimball/White Lake 51

MITCHELL — Crow Creek built an early lead and held off Kimball/White Lake for a boys basketball win at the Sacred Hoops Classic Saturday. 

Crow Creek’s Jeremiah Shields netted 16 points, while Caleb Flute finished with seven points. 

Jayden Sazue, Nate Ross and Xavier Wind scored six points apiece. Talyn Comes Flying added five points.

KWL’s Ryder Michalek finished with 15 points. Porter Miller tossed in 15 points, while Jaxon Pursell added 11 points. Jaxon Christensen scored five points. 

 

Lennox 95, Pine Ridge 33

MITCHELL — Lennox’s Porter Ihnen erupted for 45 points in a boys basketball win over Pine Ridge on Saturday at the Sacred Hoops Classic. 

Ihnen scored 41 of his 45 points in the first half, finished 13 of 13 at the free-throw line and was pulled late in the third quarter. Braeden Wulf, Conner Eich and Braxton Musser scored eight points apiece. Jackson Arlt and Andrew Daugherty added six points apiece. 

Pine Ridge’s Lewis Ten Fingers finished with eight points, while Zander Big Crow tossed in seven points. Beau Big Crow and Juan Espinosa scored six points apiece.


Madison 45, Pine Ridge 41

MITCHELL — Madison was outscored 11-4 in the fourth quarter, but outlasted Pine Ridge for a girls basketball victory at the Sacred Hoops Classic Saturday. 

Madison’s Zoey Gerry recorded 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Audrey Nelson had 10 points. Karley Lurz added seven points. 

Pine Ridge’s Lolo Carlow recorded 22 points and Patricia Carlow added nine points.

Lower Brule 53, Kimball/White Lake 51 (OT)

MITCHELL — Lower Brule edged Kimball/White Lake in overtime of a girls basketball game on Saturday at the Sacred Hoops Classic. 

Courtney Traversie scored 19 points and hit the go-ahead basket with eight seconds to propel Lower Brule to the win. Kharmon Wells netted 13 points, while Brilyn LaRoche added seven points. Hillary Goodlow and Kaitlyn Thompson scored six and seven points, respectively.

KWL’s Ryann Nielsen, whose 3-pointer at the end of regulation forced overtime, tossed in 18 points. Kate Havlik scored 16 points. Harley Namanny scored 12 points.

Custer 53, Parkston 48 (OT)

MITCHELL — Custer rallied for an overtime boys basketball win over Parkston on Saturday at the Sacred Hoops Classic. 

Custer’s Kyle Virtue recorded 20 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter and overtime. Rhett Lowe added 10 points, while Brody Storm and Gage Tennyson scored six points apiece. 

Parkston’s Max Scott netted 19 points, while Brayden Jervik added 10 points. Will Jodozi scored nine points and Cole Prunty added five points.


Custer 55, Crow Creek 47

MITCHELL — Custer used a 21-2 second quarter to pull away from Crow Creek in girls basketball action on Saturday at the Sacred Hoops Classic. 

Custer’s Allyson Cass recorded 20 points, while Josey Wahlstrom tossed in 12 points. Alice Sedlacek logged 11 points and Ramsey Karim scored five points. 

Crow Creek’s Angelina LeBeau tossed in 18 points, while Ronessa Sazue scored 13 points and Nateela His Law logged 10 points.


West Central 59, White River 34

MITCHELL — Class A No. 3 West Central pulled past Class B No. 3 White River for a girls basketball win on Saturday at the Sacred Hoops Classic. 

Rylee Haldeman led the Trojans with 23 points. Tabor Teel added 10 points. Jazelle Jarding and Cambell Fischer logged six points. 

White River’s Maleighya Estes tossed in 26 points.
