MITCHELL — Landon Larson’s basket with 1.3 second remaining proved to be the difference as Potter County edged Bridgewater-Emery on Saturday at the Hoops City Classic in Mitchell. 

Larson paced the Battlers with 18 points and two rebounds. Ryder Falkenhagen finished with 14 points and eight rebounds while Jhett Simon pumped in 14 points and had three rebounds. Carter Luikens added eight points, 11 rebounds and three assists. 

Ben Weber led Bridgewater-Emery with 15 points and four rebounds. Macklen Weber finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. Jase Kayser added 11 points while Holden Wollmann chipped in with 10 points, four rebounds and eight assists. 



Tea Area 77, Rapid City Christian 44

MITCHELL — Four players reached double-figure scoring as Tea Area rolled to a win over Rapid City Christian in girls basketball action Saturday. 

Mara Grant powered the Titans with 23 points and nine rebounds. Ellie Clayberg finished with 21 points, four rebounds, four assists and five steals. Katie Vasecka pumped in 14 points while Haidyn West chipped in with 10 points. 

Lydia Williams paced Rapid City Christian with 12 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Hayden Thornton added 11 points, three rebounds and an assist. 


Rapid City Christian 78, Campbell County, WY 61

MITCHELL — Benson Kieffer and Julius Frog combined for 44 points as Rapid City Christian picked up a win over Campbell County, Wyoming on Saturday at the Hoops City Classic. 

Kieffer made 10-of-10 from the charity stripe on his way to 28 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Frog contributed 17 points and 11 rebounds. Simon Kieffer and Cayden Von Eye combined for 14 points for the Comets. 

Lane Hladky led Campbell County with 18 points. Nate Williams added 12 points while Mason Drube chipped in with 10 points. 


Brandon Valley 67, Thunder Basin, WY 35

MITCHELL — Three players reached double figures as the Brandon Valley girls picked up a win over Thunder Basin, Wyoming at Saturday’s Hoop City Classic. 

Alyvia Padgett led Brandon Valley with 14 points and eight assists. Kennedi Deckert added 11 points and two rebounds and Madison Gelver chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds. 

Kambel Cox led Thunder Basin with 14 points and four rebounds. Reece McGrath added seven points and four rebounds. 


Brandon Valley 64, Thunder Basin, WY 46

MITCHELL — A balanced scoring attack helped Brandon Valley earn a win over Thunder Basin, Wyoming on Saturday at the Hoops City Classic in Mitchell. 

Aiden Zerr powered the Brandon Valley attack with 15 points and five rebounds. Josh Olthoff added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Lynx. Landon Dulaney scored nine points and Brady Wells chipped in with eight points. 

Gibson Williams paced Thunder Basin with 20 points and four rebounds. Josh Klaassen added 16 points and seven rebounds. 


Mitchell 71, Campbell County, WY 56

MITCHELL — Addie Siemsen’s big night helped the Mitchell girls earn a win over Campbell County Wyoming on Saturday at the Hoops City Classic. 

Siemsen knocked down 7 3-pointers and finished with 30 points, six steals and three rebounds. Laura Van Overschelde added 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Sawyer Stoebner chipped in with 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists. 

Cami Curtis led Campbell County with 14 points. Kaylie Neary added 13 points, two rebounds and three steals. 

 

Thunder Basin, WY 53, Aberdeen Central 49

 MITCHELL — Gibson Williams’ big night helped Thunder Basin Wyoming earn a hard fought win over Aberdeen Central on Saturday at the Hoops City Classic in Mitchell.

Williams made 4 3-pointers on his way to a game high 25 points while adding six rebounds. Karver Partlow also reached double-figures for Thunder Basin with 10 points

Camden Fauth paced Aberdeen Central with 14 points and three rebounds. Brendon Philllips also reached double figures with 10 points while Grant Fritz chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds. 


Mitchell 45, DeLaSalle, MN

MITCHELL — Colton Smith and Markus Talley both reached double-figures as Mitchell knocked off DeLaSalle, Minnesota in boys basketball action Saturday at the Hoops City Classic in Mitchell. 

Smith’s double-double of 15 points and 17 rebounds led Mitchell. Talley pumped in 14 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists. Gavin Loukup chipped in with seven points for Mitchell. 

Jaeden Udean led DeLaSalle with 12 points. Ray James Jr. had nine points, seven rebounds and three steals.
