Timber Lake 29, Jones County 20

MURDO — Gavin Farlee scored a go-ahead touchdown with five minutes left to lift Timber Lake to a Friday night high school football win over Jones County.

Bon Homme 28, Stanley County 22

FORT PIERRE — Landon Schmidt scored three rushing touchdowns as Bon Homme held off Stanley County for its first win of the season Friday.

Schmidt logged 22 carries for 153 yards rushing, while scoring on touchdown runs of 3, 7 and 38 yards. Bon Homme’s Jackson Caba added a rushing touchdown. The Cavaliers racked up 294 yards rushing. 

Broch Zeeb accounted for all three of Stanley County’s touchdowns. Zeeb tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Barrett Schweitzer (21 yards) and Paxton Deal (49 yards). Zeeb added a rushing touchdown. Deal added an interception on defense. 


De Smet 14, Wolsey-Wessington 6

DE SMET — Class 9B No. 2 De Smet edged Class 9A No. 3 Wolsey-Wessington in Friday high school football action. 

Britt Carlson completed 4 of 5 passes for one touchdown, while rushing for 45 yards and another score. He added seven tackles on defense. Tom Aughenbaugh hauled in three catches for 51 yards and a touchdown reception. He had eight tackles on defense. Gannon Gilligan posted 13 tackles, while Slayten Wilkinson added 12 tackles. 

For Wolsey-Wessington, Caleb Richmond completed 8 of 18 passes for 94 yards and rushed for 89 yards. Moshe Richmond hauled in 69 yards receiving, while rushing for 41 yards and a score. Gabriel Case had 56 rushing yards. Collin Hughes posted six tackles on defense. 

 

Avon 32, Hitchcock-Tulare 28

AVON — Class 9B No. 4 outlasted Class 9B No. 3 Hitchcock-Tulare for a Friday night high school football win. Noah Watchorn scored a go-ahead touchdown for Avon with 3 1/2 minutes left. 

Aziah Meyer led the Pirates with 98 rushing yards on 13 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns. Watchorn added 55 rushing yards, while Paxton Bierema had 46 passing yards and a touchdown. 

For Hitchcock-Tulare, Erik Salmen scored two rushing touchdowns, while he caught a touchdown pass from Brendan Nowell. Blaze Binger added a touchdown run for the Patriots.


Canistota 24, Elkton-Lake Benton 12 

ELKTON — Class 9A No. 1 Canistota edged Class 9AA No. 4 Elkton-Lake Benton in Friday high school football action.

Canistota’s Tage Ortman completed 12 of 22 passes for 189 yards and threw a passing touchdown. Ortman added 115 rushing yards on 17 carries. Cayden Scott scored a pair of rushing touchdowns. Brady Scott hauled in six catches for 69 yards, while Cayden Scott had 75 receiving yards on three catches. Ty Doblar caught a touchdown pass. 

For ELB, Colt Beck completed 18 of 25 passes for 185 yards. Beck added 146 rushing yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns. Carson Griffith hauled in 104 receiving yards on seven catches. Tanner Stein added 49 receiving yards. Blake DeVries posted 8.5 tackles and Quinten Poindexter had an interception. 


Parker 18, Clark/Willow Lake 14

PARKER — Parker outlasted Clark/Willow Lake for a Friday high school football win. 

Parker’s Landon Wieman completed 11 of 21 passes for 140 yards and threw two passing touchdowns. Ray Travnicek hauled in five catches for 122 yards, while rushing for 34 yards. Michael Even rushed for 33 yards. Colin Robertson had 45 receiving yards and Andrew Even added 30 receiving yards. Levi Wieman had 14 tackles and Travnicek had an interception. 

For Clark/Willow Lake, Emmerson Larson completed 10 of 24 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown. Lincoln Reidburn hauled in 37 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Larson added 25 rushing yards. 

 

Lennox 58, Custer 7

LENNOX — Boston Katzer tossed seven passing touchdowns as Lennox rolled past Custer for a Friday high school football win.

Katzer completed 19 of 26 passes for 370 yards, while rushing for 83 yards and another score. Porter Ihnen caught eight catches for 187 yards and five touchdown catches. Drew Mikkelsen added 54 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Tate Gerdes and Jevyn Lefers had six tackles apiece. Lucas Bontje had an interception. 

The Orioles racked up 501 total yards.


Pierre 27, Yankton 14

YANKTON — Class 11AA No. 1 Pierre won its 19th straight game in a Friday night high school football win over Class 11AA No. 2 Yankton. The Governors finished with 480 total yards in the win.

Cade Kaiser paced the Governors with 170 passing yards on 12 of 25 passing, while rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown. Trey Lewis added 164 rushing yards on 16 carries and a score. George Stalley caught four catches for 87 yards and a touchdown. Chance Carda collected six tackles.


Harding County/Bison 51, Newell 0

NEWELL — Class 9A No. 4 Harding County/Bison racked up 296 rushing yards and blanked Newell in Friday night high school football action. 

Rylee Veal led the Ranchers with 143 rushing yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns. R.J. Meyer added 100 rushing yards on four carries and scored a touchdown. Coby Arthur had a rushing score. Hayden Pihl completed three passes for 73 yards and threw two passing touchdowns. Meyer and Nayati Bickerdyke hauled in touchdown catches. On defense, Meyer, Kohl Risty and Kyle Stadler had interceptions. Euginio Martinez posted five tackles. 

For Newell, William Juelfs posted 59 rushing yards and Gavin Tesch added 38 rushing yards. The Irrigators finished with 89 total yards.


Dell Rapids 48, Canton 30

DELL RAPIDS — Class 11A No. 1 Dell Rapids racked up 388 total yards in a win over Class 11A No. 3 Canton on Friday. 

Jack Henry completed all five of his passes for 150 yards and threw two passing touchdowns. Henry added 47 rushing yards. Mason Stubbe added 94 rushing yards on nine carries and scored three touchdowns. Cole Ruesink rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns. Ruesink hauled in 73 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Stubbe added 77 receiving yards and one touchdown. Stubbe had an interception on defense, while Ryan Stubbe and Aiden Geraets had six tackles. Ruesink logged five tackles.

For Canton, Braxton Mulder completed 10 of 15 passes for 57 yards and a touchdown. Cain Wallner rushed for 58 yards on eight carries and scored a touchdown. Matt Anderson hauled in a touchdown reception. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 46, Arlington 8 

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids St. Mary posted 344 total yards in a Friday night high school football win over Arlington. The Cardinals rushed for 270 yards in the win. 

Nic Gaspar rushed for 76 yards on nine carries and scored a touchdown. Lucas Flemmer added 67 yards rushing on 10 carries and scored a touchdown. Lincoln LeBrun rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown. Jake Heinitz added a rushing score. Owen Vargas completed 6 of 10 passes for 71 yards and threw two passing touchdowns. Gaspar and LeBrun hauled in touchdown catches. LeBrun logged 44 receiving yards. On defense, Gaspar posted 9.5 tackles, while Flemmer added 7.5 tackles and a pick-six. Camden Gilbert added six tackles and an interception. Carlo Pica also intercepted a pass.

Arlington finished with 209 total yards. 

 

Wall 48, White River 6

WALL — Class 9AA No. 5 Wall racked up 259 rushing yards in a high school football win over White River on Friday. 

Wall’s Burk Blasius completed 15 of 21 passes for 132 yards and threw three passing touchdowns. Blasius added 177 rushing yards on 12 carries and scored three more scores. Kale Crowser posted nine tackles and Brodi Sundall had an interception. 

For White River, Nic Marshall completed 13 of 24 passes for 183 yards and threw a passing touchdown.

Kimball/White Lake 52, Potter County 8 

GETTYSBURG — Iden Myers powered Kimball/White Lake to a Friday high school football win. 

Myers racked up 263 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Gavin Braun added 121 rushing yards and a touchdown. Lucas Lenz and Blake Leiferman hauled in touchdown receptions. Graden Holan added 11 tackles and Myers posted nine tackles. 

 

Corsica-Stickney 50, Burke 15

CORSICA — Waylon Bolle powered Corsica-Stickney to a Friday night high school football win.

Bolle finished with 214 rushing yards on eight carries and scored three rushing touchdowns, while adding a touchdown reception. Carter Wright added a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown. Tate Tolsma tallied two touchdown runs, while he hauled in 80 rushing yards on eight carries. 

Burke’s Bryce Bartling caught a touchdown pass and Kaleb Schonebaum added a rushing touchdown. Gentry Bartling rushed for 79 yards on 14 carries. 


Howard 45, Freeman-Marion-Freeman Academy 18 

FREEMAN — Taiden Hoyer paced Class 9AA No. 3 Howard to a Friday night high school football win. 

Hoyer completed 6 of 9 passes for 127 yards and threw three passing touchdowns, while rushing for 124 yards on eight carries. Jackson Remmers added 102 rushing yards on seven carries and scored a touchdown. Tate Miller, Karsyn Feldhaus and Kade Grocott added rushing scores. 

Luke Koepsell hauled in 86 receiving yards and caught two touchdowns. Weston Remmers added a 16-yard touchdown reception. 

For Freeman-Marion-Freeman Academy, Karter Weber completed 23 of 34 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. He added 64 rushing yards on 10 carries and had a touchdown. Rocky Ammann caught eight passes for 71 yards, while Christopher Aasen and Luke Peters both caught touchdown passes.

 

Elk Point-Jefferson 36, McCook Central/Montrose 8 

ELK POINT — Class 11B No. 4 Elk Point-Jefferson pulled away from McCook Central/Montrose for a Friday high school football win. 

Keaton Gale led the Huskies with 97 rushing yards on 15 carries and scored a touchdown. Gale completed 8 of 15 passes for 96 yards and threw another touchdown. Garrett Merkley recorded 70 rushing yards on seven carries and scored a touchdown. Carson Timmins had 44 receiving yards, while Merkley added 39 receiving yards. Ashton Fairbanks hauled in a touchdown catch. Evan Fornia had an interception on defense.  

For MCM, Lane Deutsch completed 14 of 43 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. Carter Randall rushed for 26 yards on 11 carries. Ty Morrison hauled in 57 receiving yards, while Mason Sabers caught a touchdown. 

 

Centerville 46, Gayville-Volin 40 

GAYVILLE — Alec Austin’s fourth-quarter 22-yard touchdown run lifted Centerville to a high school football win on Friday.

Austin completed 18 of 28 passes for 269 yards and threw three passing touchdowns, while rushing for 65 yards and two scores. James Buckneberg added 104 rushing yards on 14 carries and scored a touchdown. Covin Wattier hauled in six catches for 131 yards and caught two touchdowns. Miles Eide added 65 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Austin had seven tackles and Eide added an interception on defense. 

The Tornadoes racked up 445 total yards.

 

Chamberlain 46, Belle Fourche 0

BELLE FOURCHE — Cruz Soulek tossed three passing touchdowns as Chamberlain blanked Belle Fourche in Friday high school football action. Soulek completed 12 of 16 passes for 209 yards. 

The Cubs recorded 518 total yards, including 309 yards on the ground.


Waverly-South Shore 58, Florence-Henry 36

HENRY — Waverly-South Shore outlasted Florence-Henry in a Friday night high school football shootout. WSS finished with 294 passing yards and 104 rushing yards. 

Zach Ries completed 22 of 42 passes for 294 yards and tossed six passing touchdowns, while rushing for another score. Ries added 58 rushing yards on 15 carries. Cody Thompson rushed for 47 yards, 89 receiving yards and hauled in three passing touchdowns. Sam Appelhof hauled in seven catches for 109 yards and a touchdown reception. Colton Schroeder had a 70-yard fumble recovery for a score. 

For Florence-Henry, Karter Kohlenberg rushed for 159 yards on 25 carries and scored two touchdowns. Dawson Lantgen completed 7 of 12 passes for 129 yards and threw two passing touchdowns. Tate Hartley hauled in 92 receiving yards and caught two touchdowns. Tristan Sumner added 49 rushing yards and a touchdown. Kohlenberg posted 15 tackles. 


Sioux Falls Christian 21, Madison 15

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Christian used a third-quarter touchdown to edge Madison in high school football action Friday in Sioux Falls. 

Another big night for Christian quarterback Lincoln Prins who passed for 294 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite target was Cole Snyder who grabbed eight passes for 279 yards while catching the two touchdowns. 

Madison quarterback Ben Brooks had both Madison touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air. He finished with 135 yards on the ground and 123 through the air. 


West Central 41, Vermillion 7

VERMILLION — Class 11A No. 2 West Central rushed for 254 yards in a high school football win over Vermillion on Friday.

Caden Alfson completed 4 of 10 passes for 72 yards and threw three passing touchdowns. Aiden Bartmann added 141 rushing yards on 14 carries. Jude Jarding rushed for two touchdowns, while Chet Carda had 61 rushing yards and a touchdown. Layton Johnson, Crew Heier and Benjamin Vuong hauled in touchdown catches. Carda had 14 tackles.


Tea Area 66, Douglas 8

TEA — Tea Area posted a game total of 425 yards rushing to earn a win over Douglas in high school football action Friday night. Cole McKinney paced the Tea Area rushing attack with eight carries for 109 yards while scoring two touchdowns. Keegan DeYoung finished with 90 yards on the ground with three touchdowns while Brenner Konrad rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns. 

Douglas quarterback Aiden Russell passed for 141 yards with a touchdown. Running back Isaiah Brewer finished with 95 yards to lead the Patriots.
