Sioux Falls Christian's Eli Anema chips in for birdie on 18th to win West Central meet

HARTFORD — Sioux Falls Christian’s Eli Anema chipped in for a birdie to capture individual honors at Monday’s West Central Early Bird Golf Invitational. 

Anema carded a 4-over-par 76, while West Central’s Kaden Zomer finished one stroke back with a 77. Anema shot an even par 36 on the back nine, including his chip-in birdie on the 340-yard, par-4 18th hole to secure the win. Anema shot a 40 on the front nine. 

Zomer shot a 36 on the front nine and a 41 on the back nine. Sioux Falls Christian’s Kaleb Jost shot a 79 to finish in third place. 

Elk Point-Jefferson’s Carter Langle shot an 80 to finish fourth. Madison’s Kaden Guischer, Vermillion’s Cooper Girard, Vermillion’s Kade Reuvers and Sioux Falls Christian’s Carson Weiner shot 81s to tie for fifth place. 

Sioux Falls Christian won the team title with a +36 team score. Vermillion (+41) and West Central (+54) finished second and third, respectively.
