MITCHELL — Sioux Falls O’Gorman spoiled Mitchell’s bid for back-to-back Class AA state championships on Friday.

The Knights captured the state championship with 150.300 points, edging the Kernels (149.700) at the Corn Palace. Mitchell was looking for its second consecutive state championship and its sixth since 2014. 

O’Gorman last won a state championship in 2005 when it claimed four straight between 2002-05. 

Harrisburg (148.233), Watertown (143.517) and Yankton (139.483) rounded out the top five. 

The Class AA individual portion is Saturday.
