FARGO, N.D. — Two years ago South Dakota was represented by two girls at the US Marine Corps 16u & Junior Nationals. 

On Saturday, Team South Dakota, represented by 12 athletes advanced four girls to Sunday’s semifinals in the freestyle competition in Fargo, North Dakota. 

Advancing to the semifinals were Regina Stoeser (Harrisburg),  Peyton Hellman (Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon), Britney Rueb (Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon and Zoe Adam (Canton).

Quarterfinal results:

(122) - Regina Stoeser won by disqualification over Danica Torres (Arizona).

(127) - Britney Rueb VPO1 over Lexy Pabon (Maryland), 6-6.

(127) - Peyton Hellmann VPO1 over Riley Hanrahan (Wisconsin), 6-1)

(200) - Zoe Adam VFA over Kiara Ganey (Illinois), 5-1 1:34

As wrestling action resumed Sunday Pierre’s Dani Ringstmeyer (117) and Spearfish’s Taylor Graveman (132) needed to win one more match to reach the placing rounds.
