HURON — Watertown’s Grace McElroy and Brookings’ Trevin Lounsbury claimed individual titles at Saturday’s Clyde Cotton Invitational run at the Broadland Creek Golf Course. 

McElroy finished the 5,000-meter course with a time of 18:58, ahead of Chamberlin’s Grace Phillips (19:21) and Tea Area’s Jayce Babb (19:27). Spearfish’s Kori Keil (19:47) and Aberdeen Central’s Juna Rumay rounded out the top-five (19:58). 

Lounsbury won the boys race (16:02), ahead of Aberdeen Central’s Carson Urlacher (16:20) and Custer’s Sean Shipp (16:22). Brookings’ Ernest Ting was fourth (16:25) while Pierre’s Caleb Morris (16:26) rounded out the top-five.

The Tea Area girls won the meet with 60 points, ahead of Spearfish (68) and Watertown (90). The Aberdeen Central boys won the team race with 49 points, just ahead of Brookings (51) and Custer (118).
