Through the first three weeks of the season the Sturgis Scooper have looked every bit the part of Class A’s No. 1 ranked wrestling team. 

After winning the Rapid City Invitational the Scoopers came back to easily win last weekend’s Madison Invitational. The Scoopers had five individual champions and scored nearly 100 more points than their nearest competitor, Rapid City Stevens. Sturgis has just one top-ranked wrestler, Zak Juelfs but the Scoopers have ranked wrestlers in every single weight class. 

In the week 3 poll Sturgis puts up 197 points, ahead of Brandon Valley (146) and Pierre (140). Rapid City Stevens (135) and Aberdeen Central (103) round out the top-five ranked teams this week.
