Only a junior, Tea Area’s Chase DeBoer’s best wrestling days are ahead of him. 

DeBoer, wrestling at 285 but weighing just a shade over 215, defeated Class B No. 1 Hunter Richmond of Canton 7-3 in the finals of Saturday’s Mid-Dakota Monster wrestling tournament. 

Tea Area fans packed the gym in Presho and watched as the Titans finished second in the team standings, just behind Class B’s top ranked Canton C-Hawks. 

The Titans are Class A’s sixth ranked team. 

In the Week 5 Dakota Grappler rankings Sturgis continues to lead the team race as the Scoopers are projected to score 200 points, ahead of Aberdeen Central (143) and Brandon Valley (124). Rapid City Stevens (121) and Watertown (114) rounded out the top five teams.
