St. Thomas More 15, Custer 0 (3 innings)

RAPID CITY — St. Thomas More pounded out 21 hits en route to a shutout win over Custer in Monday high school baseball action.

STM’s Isaiah Quasney recorded four hits and drove in four runs. Ben Bowers, Rush Turner and Joe Giacametto recorded three hits apiece. Giacametto smacked a three-run homer. Turner knocked in two runs. Hayden Heig added two hits and drove in a run. Bowers had an RBI. Carter Kemp and Grayden Juve had two hits apiece. Charles Rangel drove in a run. 

Custer’s Jayse Noem allowed 16 earned runs on 21 hits in 1.2 innings. 


Lennox 1, Sioux Falls Christian 0

SIOUX FALLS — Cole Spieler’s no-hitter powered Lennox over Sioux Falls Christian during Monday’s high school baseball action.

Spieler tossed seven shutout innings on just 91 pitches, allowing one hit-batsmen and a walk while striking out eight in the win. Jaxson Bittner drove in the go-ahead run for Lennox on one hit while Spieler and Mason Reischl each had two hits for the Orioles.

For SFC, Maddux Munson took the loss despite seven strong innings of work, allowing one run on three hits and three walks, striking out 14 batters.


Groton Area 1, Clark Area 0

CLARK — Nolan Groeblinghoff’s sixth-inning RBI-single pushed Groton Area over Clark Area for a high school baseball win Monday.

Groeblinghoff drove in the only run of the game on one hit and one walk in the win while Alex Abeln added two hits for the Tigers. Jackson Erdmann took the win on the mound in 6.2 shutout innings, allowing just two hits and four walks while striking out six.

For Clark Area, Watson Grantham took the loss allowing one run on four hits and one walk in a complete game effort, striking out 13 batters. Cooper Pommer and Jakob Steen recorded the only two hits of the game for CA.


Brandon Valley 6, O’Gorman 5

BRANDON — Ryan Fenton’s walk-off home run lifted Brandon Valley over O’Gorman during high school baseball action Monday.

Fenton batted 2-for-4 with a double and the game-winning homer for the Lynx, Bryce Plucker added two hits and a walk, Maxwell Peters added two RBIs on one hit while Brayden Knutson tallied three walks in the win. Bryton Stroh earned the win on the mound allowing just one walk in 2.1 innings of relief, striking out four.

For OG, Landon Nohrenberg took the loss allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in 2.2 innings, striking out six batters.

Talec Schlimgen had two RBIs on a double, triple and a walk while Bennett Duncan had two RBIs on one hit in the loss.


Dakota Valley 8, Beresford Area 7

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Vaughn Hoffman’s two-RBI double guided Dakota Valley to a walk-off win over Beresford Area in high school baseball action Monday.

Hoffman batted 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in the win, Jake Pick added four hits, a triple and an RBI, Sterling Schauff had two hits and an RBI while Jack Wiese tallied an RBI on one hit in the win. Jackson Shoulders took the win on the mound in 0.2 innings of relief, striking out one batter. Grady Ramos started the game for the Panthers allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk in five innings, striking out five.

For BA, Ian Henderson allowed two runs on one hit and one walk in the loss. Ashton Oberle batted 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Noah Schoenfelder totaled two RBIs on a homer and a walk while Boston Jensen, Henderson and Evan Rosheim each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Vermillion 7, Elk Point-Jefferson 1

VERMILLION — Nolan Nygren struck out 11 batters as Vermillion cruised past Elk Point-Jefferson in high school baseball action Monday.

Nygren took the win on the mound tossing 11 strikeouts in six innings of work, allowing one run on one hit and six walks. Nygren also drove in a run on one hit for Vermillion.

Trey Hansen batted 4-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs while Cale Cleveland and Ryan Vitt each had two hits, including an RBI by Vitt in the win.

For EPJ, Brody Van Roekel took the loss allowing five runs on eight hits and four walks in 4.1 innings, striking out five. Drew Geary drove in the lone run on a double and a walk in the loss.


Bon Homme 10, Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney 0 (5 innings)

TYNDALL — Bon Homme pounded out 12 hits as the Cavaliers blanked Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney during Monday’s high school baseball action.

Alex Adler led the Cavs driving in two runs on three hits, including two doubles and a home run, Cooper Mudder drove in two runs on two hits, Calvin Caba added three RBIs on two hits and a walk while Major Aarstad totaled two hits and two walks in the win.

Isaiah Crownover took the win on the mound for BH in five shutout innings, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out four.

For MVPCS, Ethan Hoffman suffered the loss allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks in three innings, striking out five. Connor Wright led the Padres with two hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids 7, Tri-Valley 0

DELL RAPIDS — Ryan Stubbe and Joe Trumbauer combined for 12 strikeouts to earn the shutout win for Dell Rapids over Tri-Valley in high school baseball action Monday.

Stubbe took the win on the mound tossing five shutout innings allowing just two hits and five walks while fanning nine batters. Trumbauer added two more scoreless innings, allowing two walks while striking out three. 

Drake Eastman and Lincoln LeBrun each had two hits, including a triple by LeBrun, Connor Hanson tallied an RBI-double, Thomas LaVoy added an RBI-single while Carson Maeschen powered a two-run homer in the win.

For TV, Tristen Bunde tallied 4.2 innings on the mound, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk, striking out seven batters. Cooper Durik and Brody Dybvig each had two hits and a walk in the loss.


West Central 15, Parker 2

PARKER — West Central powered out 15 hits as the Trojans broke away from Parker during high school baseball action Monday.

CJ Den Boer led WC with three hits, a double, and three RBIs, Gunnar Alfson and Zach Lorang each had two hits and two RBIs, Beckett Everson totaled two hits, a double, walk, and three RBIs, JT Steckley and Hayes Cain added two hits and an RBI while Nick Lorang totaled two hits in the win.

Taten Van Overbeke took the win on the mound in three innings pitched, allowing two runs on one hit and four walks, striking out six batters.

For Parker, Luke Travnicek allowed 12 runs on 11 hits and three walks in 3.2 innings of work, striking out six. Colin Robertson totaled the lone hit of the game for Parker, while Emmitt Rowe and Caleb Christiansen each tallied RBIs on two walks in the loss.


Parkston/Ethan 15, Tri-County 0 (4 innings)

IRENE — Parkston/Ethan pounded out 11 hits to blank Tri-County in four innings for a high school baseball win on Monday.

Wyatt Anderson powered the Trojans batting 3-for-3 with a double, walk, and two RBIs in the win, Johnny Weber added two hits, two walks and three RBIs, Jaxx Kurtenbach collected two triples and an RBI, Mason Jervik had two hits and a walk while Hayden Mette netted two RBIs on one hit in the win. Anderson took the win on the mound as well, tossing four shutout innings allowing just one hit and one hit-batsmen, striking out nine.

For TC, Noah Hansen took the loss allowing five runs on three hits and three walks in two innings of work, striking out four. Hansen tallied the only hit of the game as well.


Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 10, Gregory County 6

PLATTE — Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake exploded for 14 hits as the Honkers defeated Gregory County in high school baseball action Monday.

Jye Bailey batted 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Maddux VanZee added three hits, a triple, and an RBI, Walter Graesser and Kenyon Kuiper each tallied two hits and two RBIs while Keaton Christensen had an RBI double in the win. Asher Kott added an RBI on a walk as well.

Isaac Leader took the win on the mound in four innings pitched, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks, striking out two.

For GC, Carter Baumgartner allowed 10 runs on 13 hits and two walks in 5.1 innings, striking out one. Ryggan Lambley tallied two hits and a walk, Baumgartner drove in a run on a double and two walks while Lincoln Juracek had two RBIs on a double and two walks in the loss.


Sturgis Brown 7, Belle Fourche 1

STURGIS — Sturgis Brown collected 12 hits as the Scoopers rolled to a high school baseball win over Belle Fourche Monday.

Elijah Stroud led SB with three hits and a walk, driving in two runs as well, Easton Sabers added three hits, Jack Jolley had two hits and two RBIs while Kjell Sundstrom drove in a run on two doubles in the win. Cael Pool tossed three innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks, striking out three batters.

For BF, Carsyn Hahne allowed five runs on 10 hits and two walks in five innings, striking out six. Graham VanderBoom drove in the lone run of the game for the Broncs on one hit.


Baltic 13, Garretson 5

GARRETSON — Baltic scored seven runs over the final two innings to pull away from Garretson for a high school baseball win on Monday.

Elias and Isaac Oakley each had four RBIs, with Elias collecting a triple and two walks while Isaac added two hits in the win. Jackson Goehring drove in two runs on two hits while Z Helgeson had an RBI on one hit and three walks in the win. Isaac Oakley pitched four innings, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and a walk, striking out four.

For Garretson, Jack Adler tossed three innings, allowing four runs on two hits and two walks. Carter Siemonsma had two hits while Brecken Honey and Jacoby Costello each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Sioux Falls Washington 9, Huron 1

SIOUX FALLS — Brekken Biteler’s complete game on the mound guided Sioux Falls Washington over Huron during Monday’s high school baseball action.

Biteler tossed seven complete innings, allowing just one run on five hits and two walks, striking out nine batters. Caleb Bumann led the Warriors with three RBIs on two doubles and a walk, Caden Sporrer collected two hits, a triple, and a walk, Ethan Pearson drove in two runs on a hit and two walks while Biteler and Tyler Ringheimer each drove in a run in the win.

For Huron, Cooper Bischoff tallied two hits in the loss.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 13, Sioux Falls Lincoln 3 (5 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Jefferson exploded for 15 hits as the Cavaliers earned a mercy rule win over Sioux Falls Lincoln in high school baseball action Monday.

Easton Riley powered the Cavs’ bats with three hits and an RBI, Brody Jacobson and Boston Bryant each drove in two runs on two hits, including a double and a triple by Bryant. C Mediger added two hits, a triple and three RBIs, Noah Kuenzi collected two hits and an RBI, Maddox Zens drove in two runs on one hit while Caleb Goodroad had an RBi on a hit and two walks in the win.

Caden Voss took the win on the mound allowing three runs on five hits and six walks in four innings pitched, striking out four.

For Lincoln, Carter Brady allowed six runs on five hits and two walks in 2.2 innings, striking out two. Murphy Eisenberg tallied two hits, Colin Lunders had two RBIs on a hit and a walk while Jacksyn Raak had an RBI on one hit in the loss.
