Vermillion 8, Dakota Valley 7

VERMILLION — Corbin Heckens’ walk-off RBI-single powered Vermillion over Dakota Valley during Tuesday’s high school baseball action.

Heckens finished with two hits and two RBIs in the win, Cale Cleveland, Nolan Nygren and Trey Hansen each drove in a run on two hits as well, Grant Roerig collected two hits and a walk while Teddy Nesmith netted an RBI-single for the Tanagers.

Mason Nygren took the win on the mound in 1.1 innings of work, allowing one run on two hits and two walks, striking out one.

For DV, Sterling Schauff took the loss in three innings pitched, allowing three runs on five hits and five walks, striking out four. Schauff also had two hits, a double, and two RBIs in the loss.

Jack Wiese added three hits for the Panthers, Jake Pick collected two hits and two RBIs, Noah Graham added a solo home run while William Schnabel had an RBI single in the loss.


West Central 6, Tri-Valley 1

HARTFORD — West Central scored six unanswered runs to run past Tri-Valley for a high school baseball win on Tuesday.

Gunnar Alfson took the win on the mound for the Trojans, allowing just one walk in four innings while striking out nine batters. Alfson also batted 2-for-3 with a solo home run.

Eli Koehn drove in two runs on one hit while Nick Lorang and Ashton Gebhard added an RBI on one hit in the win.

For TV, Tristen Bunde allowed six runs on six hits and a walk in 5.1 innings, striking out three. Denton Bicknase had two hits and a walk while Treyson Richter drove in the lone Mustang run on one hit in the loss.


Sioux Falls Christian 15, Tri-County 2 (5 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Christian exploded for 11 hits and eight walks to roll past Tri-County during Tuesday’s high school baseball action.

Peter Samp took the win on the mound in three innings of work, allowing two unearned runs on three hits, striking out five.

Hayden Gorsett added two hits and two RBIs for the Chargers, Will Focht and Abbott Moeller each drove in two runs on one hit, Dylan Knecht, Trey Pater and Tate Connell each had an RBI on one hit while Maddux Munson, Liam Butzman and Jake Humpal each drove in a run on one walk in the win.

For Tri-County, Jeremiah Gustad gave up 10 runs on seven hits and five walks in 1.1 innings, striking out two. Gustad tallied two RBIs on one hit while Noah Hansen added two hits in the loss.


Rapid City Christian 13, St. Thomas More 5

RAPID CITY — A balanced offense powered Rapid City Christian over St. Thomas More during Tuesday’s high school baseball action.

Sam Tordsen led the Comets with three RBIs on one hit and one walk, Vander Von Eye added two RBIs on a hit and two walks, Turner Tonkel tallied an RBI on a hit and a walk while Jackson Winter collected an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win. Tordsen took the win on the mound in four innings of work, allowing three runs on one hit and five walks, striking out five.

For STM, Rush Turner allowed nine runs on six hits and six walks in four innings of work, striking out three. Hayden Heig, Ben Bowers and Charles Rangel each had an RBI while Isaiah Quasney drove in two runs on a double in the loss.


Harrisburg 4, Watertown 1

WATERTOWN — Andrew Dierks tossed 6.1 shutout innings as Harrisburg defeated Watertown in high school baseball action Tuesday.

Dierks allowed just three hits and three walks in 6.1 innings, striking out six batters to take the win on the mound.

Gavin Weir totaled three hits for Harrisburg, Noah Rutten added three hits, two doubles and an RBI while Nick Riley and Collin Wright each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Watertown, Jackson McClemans took the loss surrendering three unearned runs on nine hits and a walk in six innings, striking out four.

Markus Pitkin had three hits, a double, and one RBI in the loss.


Harrisburg 9, Watertown 7 (8 innings)

WATERTOWN — Harrisburg turned a double play to close out the extra-inning win over Watertown in high school baseball action Tuesday.

Bryson Esser batted 4-for-4 with a walk and a double in the win, Wyatt Witwicki added two RBIs on one hit, Gavin Weir had an RBI on a hit and a walk, Kade Wede collected an RBi on two doubles and a walk while Treydon Hofer totaled an RBi on a double and two walks for the Tigers. Grady Wolbrink pitched five innings for Harrisburg, allowing one run on two hits and three walks, striking out seven.

For Watertown, Tripp Jorgenson pitched four innings, allowing four runs on three hits and four walks in the loss. Jonathan Lake drove in three runs on one hit while Sam Olson added an RBI on a hit and a walk in the loss.


Pierre 11, Huron 1 (6 innings)

HURON — Pierre erupted for 16 hits as the Governors rolled to a high school baseball win over Huron Tuesday.

Parker O’Bryan and Will Eilers each had three hits and two RBIs in the win, Tripp Lindekugel added three hits, including a double and a triple, driving in a run, Carter Schiefelbein tallied two hits and an RBI, Will Danburg recorded two hits and two RBIs while Sutton Sonnenschein added two hits for the Govs.

Bryson Wallman took the win in six innings of work, allowing one run on five hits and four walks, striking out one. For Huron, Nolan Stahly took the loss allowing six runs on 11 hits in 3.1 innings.

Zach Scheer and Sean Janes each tallied two hits in the loss.


Pierre 16, Huron 1 (6 innings)

HURON — Pierre scored all 16 runs in three innings to roll past Huron for a high school baseball win on Tuesday.

Carter Schiefelbein and Tripp Lindekugel each had three hits in the win, Jerren Deal added four RBIs on a triple and a hit-by-pitch, Sutton Sonnenschein had two RBIs on two hits, including a double, Porter Hunsley netted two RBIs on a hit and a walk, Parker O’Bryan had two hits and an RBI while Jonathan Neuharth and Brecken Fuhrman each had an RBI on a walk in the win.

Hudson Shaffer took the win in five innings pitched, allowing one unearned run on four hits and two walks, striking out four.

For Huron, Zach Scheer allowed three runs on four hits and two walks in 1.2 innings to take the loss. Sean Janes had two hits and an RBI in the loss.


Sioux Falls Washington 12, Brookings 4

BROOKINGS — Tyler Ringheimer tossed four shutout innings to power Sioux Falls Washington over Brookings for a high school baseball win on Tuesday.

Ringheimer allowed just three hits and a walk in four shutout innings to take the win on the mound, striking out two batters.

Kylar White tallied two hits, a double, and an RBI, Sajen Haas and Easton Pearson each added two RBIs on one hit, Caden Sporrer drove in two runs on a triple and a walk while Paxton Olson added an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

For Brookings, Noah Lease took the loss, allowing six runs on three hits and five walks in 5.1 innings, striking out five. Jase Bauer tallied two hits and two RBIs while Cooper Schneider and Jay Harris each had two hits and an RBI in the loss.


Brookings 6, Sioux Falls Washington 5

BROOKINGS — Brookings scored two runs in the sixth inning to stun Sioux Falls Washington for a high school baseball win on Tuesday.

Baker Hanson led the Bobcat offense with four RBIs on three hits and a walk while Jay Harris added an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win. Andrew Heinze took the win on the mound in seven complete innings, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks, striking out six.

For Washington, Paxton Olson took the loss in two innings of work, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk. Kylar White drove in three runs on a double while Tyler Ringheimer added an RBI on a walk in the loss.


Brandon Valley 7, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 1

SIOUX FALLS — Caleb Severin tossed seven strong innings as Brandon Valley defeated Sioux Falls Roosevelt during Tuesday’s high school baseball action.

Severin allowed one unearned run on four hits and two walks, striking out 10 batters in seven innings of work.

Bryce Plucker drove in two runs on two hits and a walk for BV, Jack Blomgren added an RBI on one hit while Brayden Knutson collected an RBI on three walks in the win.

For Roosevelt, Chris Logue took the loss in 3.2 innings, allowing five runs on two hits and six walks, striking out three batters. Carson Breidenbach tallied two hits in the loss for Roosevelt.


Brandon Valley 9, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 5

SIOUX FALLS — Brandon Valley surged past Roosevelt to sweep a high school baseball doubleheader on Tuesday.

Brayden Knutson and Cooper Ness each drove in two runs on one hit and one walk, including a triple by Ness, Mason Veld added three hits, a double and a walk, driving in a run while Bryce Plucker and Grady Gindorff each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Christopher Joseph took the win on the mound in four innings of work, allowing five runs on four hits and five walks, striking out six.

For Roosevelt, Dylan Kreich allowed six runs on four hits and four walks in 4.1 innings, striking out three. Carson Breidenbach had two RBIs on one hit, Karl Hartmann had two hits, including a triple, while Chris Logue netted an RBI in the loss.


O’Gorman 6, Yankton 2

YANKTON — O’Gorman exploded for 12 hits as the Knights pulled past Yankton during Tuesday’s high school baseball action.

Alex McKinney led the offense with three hits and an RBI, Joey Laible drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, Gavin Hammrich had two hits and an RBI, Talec Schlimgen totaled one RBI on a double while Sam Donohoe drove in a run in the win as well.

Landon Nohrenberg took the win on the mound in 6.2 innings, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks, striking out five.

For Yankton, Ryan Turner took the loss allowing three runs on seven hits in four innings pitched, striking out four. Easton Feser drove in a run on one hit while Gavin Johnson added an RBI in the loss as well.


Yankton 4, O’Gorman 3

YANKTON — Chase Cooley fell one out shy of a complete game as Yankton clipped O’Gorman in high school baseball action Tuesday.

Cooley allowed three runs on five hits and a walk in 6.2 innings of work, striking out five in the win. Samuel Gokie totaled two hits for Yankton while Tate Beste, Carter Boomsma and Jackson Kudera each had an RBI on a walk in the win.

For O’Gorman, Paxton Sohn took the loss allowing four runs on three hits and seven walks in four innings, striking out seven. Isaac Tobin had an RBI-single, Talec Schlimgen netted two hits, a double, and an RBI while Jack Canfield totaled two hits in the loss.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 13, Tea Area 9

TEA — Jude Timat powered the Sioux Falls Lincoln offense to a win over Tea Area in high school baseball action Tuesday.

Timat batted 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs for the Patriots, Reid Atkinson added three RBIs, a double and a walk, driving in two runs, Kale Meyer totaled two RBIs on a hit and two walks, Opland Sonnichsen tallied two hits, two walks, and an RBI while Malachi Wright drove in a run on a hit and a walk in the win.

Brady Murra took the win on the mound in four innings pitched, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and three walks, striking out four.

For Tea Area, Avery Hangman took the loss allowing three runs on two hits and seven walks in 2.1 innings, striking out five.

Zach Rieland drove in five runs on a double and a homer, Nate Hall added two RBIs on two hits, including a home run, and two walks, Landyn Johnson tallied an RBI one one hit, Blake Gabbert collected two hits while Miles Jelen netted three hits in the loss.

 

Sioux Falls Lincoln 19, Tea Area 6

TEA — Sioux Falls Lincoln erupted for 19 runs to sweep Tea Area in a high school baseball doubleheader on Tuesday.

Opland Sonnichsen and Colin Lunders each drove in two runs on two hits, Reid Atkinson tallied three RBIs on a triple and a walk, Murphy Eisenberg and Jacksyn Raak each had two RBIs on one hit, Kale Meyer collected two hits, a double, walk and an RBI while Jude Timat had an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

Atkinson took the win on the mound in 3.1 innings, allowing five runs on three hits and four walks, striking out four.

For Tea Area, Miles Jelen allowed nine runs on nine hits and two walks in 3.2 innings, striking out three. Jelen batted 2-for-2 with a double, triple, walk and two RBIs while Tyson Gilbert added an RBI on a double and two walks in the loss.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 12, Mitchell 3

SIOUX FALLS — An eight-run third inning powered Sioux Falls Jefferson over Mitchell for a high school baseball win on Tuesday.

Jackson Dunn and Noah Kuenzi each had two hits and two RBIs in the win, including a triple by Dunn and a double by Kuenzi, Noah Grabow, Maddox Zens and Caleb Goodroad each had an RBI on one hit while Brody Jacobson recorded two hits in the win.

Kyler Boyd took the win on the mound in six strong innings, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks, striking out three.

For Mitchell, Kaiden Allen took the loss in 2.2 innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits and a walk, striking out two. Brennen Penne drove in two runs on one hit while Carter McCormick added an RBI-single in the loss.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 12, Mitchell 1 (5 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Brody Jacobson tossed five strong innings as Sioux Falls Jefferson swept Mitchell in a high school baseball doubleheader on Tuesday.

Jacobson earned the win on the mound allowing one run on two hits and two walks, striking out six batters in five innings. Easton Riley tallied three RBIs on two hits and a walk for the Cavs, Jackson Warnke drove in two runs on one hit while Jackson Dunn and Caleb Goodroad each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Mitchell, Stratton Forst took the loss in two innings of work, allowing six runs on four hits and three walks, striking out two. Bailor Kristensen drove in the lone Kernel run on a double in the loss.
