Sisseton/Britton-Hecla/Webster 3, Groton Area 2

BRITTON — Levi Nelson’s RBI-single pushed Sisseton/Britton/Webster over Groton Area in Wednesday’s high school baseball doubleheader.

Nelson drove in the go-ahead run on two hits in the win while Ben Suther, Colton Chapin and Will Richter each had hits for the Mallards. Rylan Anderson took the win on the mound in 4.2 shutout innings, allowing three walks while striking out seven.

For Groton Area, Gavin Englund took the loss in 6.1 innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out 12. Jordan Schwan drove in a run on two hits and a walk while Alex Abeln netted an RBI on a walk in the loss.


Sisseton/Britton-Hecla/Webster 7, Groton Area 6

BRITTON — Sisseton/Britton/Webster defeated Groton Area in walk-off fashion during Wednesday’s high school baseball action.

Ben Suther led the Mallards with two hits and an RBI, Colton Chapin added two RBIs on a double and a walk while Max Dahlen drove in a run as well for SBW. Suther struck out 13 batters in 6.1 innings of work, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks.

For Groton, Jarrett Erdmann took the loss, allowing five runs on four hits and three walks in five innings, striking out four. TC Schuster drove in three runs on three hits, Jordan Schwan had two RBIs on a hit and walk while Alex Abeln recorded an RBI on one hit in the loss.


West Central 16, Howard 0 (5 innings)

HOWARD — Five different players drove in multiple runs each as West Central blanked Howard during Wednesday’s high school baseball action.

Gunnar Alfson led the Trojans batting 3-for-4, including a three-run homer, driving in four total runs in the win, Beckett Everson and Nick Lorang each had three RBIs on two hits, including a double, JT Steckley and Eli Koehn each had two RBIs on a double while Taten Van Overbeke collected two hits and an RBI in the win. Van Overbeke took the win on the mound in three shutout innings, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out five.

For Howard, Nolan Mentele allowed five runs on four hits and a walk in three innings pitched, striking out five batters. Owen Feldhaus and William Charles each tallied hits in the loss.


Hot Springs 23, Custer 7 (4 innings)

CUSTER — A 14-run third inning powered Hot Springs to a mercy-rule win over Custer in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Jeremiah Melton batted 4-for-4 with four RBIs in the win, Brock Schroeder, Jhett Nordick and York Naze each tallied two hits and an RBI, Jaydon Koffler collected two RBIs on one hit while Cylus Rapp, Hayden Deer, Holten Rutz and Devon Busch each had an RBI on one hit in the win. William O’Neill and Nik Cruz each had two hits in the win as well.

Naze took the win on the mound tossing two shutout innings, allowing two walks while striking out four.

For Custer, Jayse Noem took the loss, allowing 20 runs on 16 hits and two walks in three innings, striking out six. Jackson Trant drove in three runs on two hits, Jaden Chee added two walks and an RBI, Everet Pinniston tallied an RBI single while Noem had two hits in the loss.


Bon Homme 9, Freeman/Canistota/Marion 4

TYNDALL — Bon Homme scored seven runs in the sixth inning to stun Freeman/Canistota/Marion in high school baseball action Wednesday.

Alex Adler drove in four runs on one hit and one walk, Madden Merkwan added two RBIs on two hits, Isaiah Crownover collected an RBI on two walks while Carter Smith netted two RBIs on a hit and a walk in the win. Thomas Kronaizl took the win on the mound in 0.2 innings, allowing two hits while striking out one.

For FCM, Easton Miller allowed six runs on four hits and three walks in one inning to take the loss. Hunter Nankivel drove in two runs on two hits, one double, Riley Gall had an RBI on one hit while Miller drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Canton 9, Garretson 3

CANTON — Three players drove in multiple runs each as Canton defeated Garretson in Tuesday’s high school baseball action.

Shane Sehr totaled two hits, two walks and two RBIs for the C-Hawks, Wyette Greenwood and Alex Rhead each had two RBIs on a walk, Ryder Thomspon tallied two hits and an RBI while Landon Hill had an RBI on two walks in the win. Kayden Chaulk took the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks in five innings, striking out three.

For Garretson, Jack Adler allowed four runs on two hits and six walks in two innings, striking out one in the loss. Carter Siemonsma and Brecken Honey each had a hit in the loss.


Dell Rapids 11, Parkston 1 (6 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Six different players drove in a run as Dell Rapids rolled to a high school baseball win over Parkston during Wednesday’s high school baseball action.

Jackson Peppel tallied two hits, including a homer and a walk, driving in two runs in the win, Kenny Swanson, Gauge Bunkers and Thomas LaVoy each had two RBIs on a hit and a walk, including doubles from Swanson and Bunkers, Jake Heinitz and Carson Maeschen each recorded an RBI on one hit while Drake Eastman drew four walks in the win.

Eastman took the win on the mound in two shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out four.

For Parkston, Brycen Bruening took the loss, allowing eight runs on five hits and five walks in one inning pitched, striking out one. Jaxx Kurtenbach, Grady Bowar, Gage Reichert, Wyatt Anderson and Landon Weber each had a hit in the loss.


Scotland/Menno 8, Elkton-Lake Benton 6

MENNO — Scotland/Menno exploded for 11 hits to clip Elkton-Lake Benton in high school baseball action Wednesday.

Riley Keppen led the Trappers with three hits, a double, and two RBIs, Dylan Dvorak added two hits and two RBIs, Luke Bierle recorded two RBIs on a hit and a walk, Hunter Clark had two hits while Lane Pavel and Kolton Bierle each tallied an RBI-single in the win. Luke Bierle took the win on the mound in 3.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk, striking out six.

For ELB, Colt Beck suffered the loss, allowing eight runs on 10 hits and two walks in 5.2 innings, striking out two. Beck added two hits and an RBI in the loss, Jack Stein tallied two RBIs on one hit, Adam Kinner drove in two runs, Aiden Myers had two hits while Sam Schuurman totaled an RBI on a hit and a walk in the loss.


Sioux Valley 12, Colman-Egan/Flandreau 2 (5 innings)

VOLGA — Sioux Valley erupted for 10 first-inning runs to beat Colman-Egan/Flandreau in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Bret Milton had two RBIs on two hits in the win, Braden Danzeisen tallied two doubles and a walk, Kade Hauck drove in a run, Isaac Skovlund added an RBI on a walk, Trentyn Schmit collected three RBIs on a triple while Broden Teske and Kellon Tucker each had an RBI on one hit in the win. Kameron Hauck took the win on the mound in five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks, striking out 11 batters.

For CE/F, Trevor Peters took the loss, allowing 10 runs on six hits and two walks in 0.2 innings. Brecken Johnson and Braysn Gould each had an RBI in the loss.

 

Belle Fourche 19, Rapid City Central 8 (5 innings)

BELLE FOURCHE — Belle Fourche scored all 19 runs in the final four innings to beat Rapid City Central in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Raif Parmeter and Daven Kracht each had four RBIs on two hits, including a homer from Parmeter and a triple by Kracht, Graham VanderBoom, Tate Thomsen and Urijah Hamilton each had two RBIs on one hit, Trig Thomsen added an RBI on a hit and a walk while Gavin Pearson drove in a run on three walks in the win. Carsyn Hahne pitched three innings in the win, allowing six runs on six hits and a walk, striking out four.

For RCC, Brody Pourier allowed eight runs on six hits and a walk in 2.1 innings, striking out five. Asher Jackson drove in two runs on two hits, Pourier added two RBIs on one hit while Steven Solano recorded two hits and an RBI in the loss.
