Rapid City Central 20, Douglas 4 (3 innings)

BOX ELDER — Rapid City Central erupted for 22 hits as the Cobblers ran away from Douglas for a high school baseball win on Thursday.

Tucker Jones batted 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Benjamin Farnsworth and Laken Uttecht each had two RBIs on three hits, Steven Solano tallied four hits and an RBI, Sam Farnsworth and Brody Pourier each netted two RBIs on two hits, Asher Jackson added two hits and an RBI,  Nathan Mailloux had two RBIs on one hit while Cayne Gregory drove in a run on one hit in the win.

Jackson earned the win on the mound in 1.2 innings, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks, striking out two.

For Douglas, David Mraz allowed 18 runs on 18 hits in 2.2 innings, striking out three. Ledger Killmeyer and Mraz each had an RBI on one hit while Payton Jones and Riggin Kasuske each tabbed an RBI in the loss.


Gregory County 13, Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 12 (8 innings)

CHAMBERLAIN — Ryggan Lambley’s eighth-inning RBI-single separated Gregory County from Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman in high school baseball action Thursday.

Lambley, Colt Keiser and Carter Baumgartner each drove in a run on one hit in the win, Landon Keiser and E Ekroth each had three hits and an RBI while Jacob Klein recorded two hits, a walk, and three RBIs for GC.

Cash Heming tossed 2.2 innings in the win, allowing three unearned runs on four hits, striking out two.

For CKL, Johnny Lenz allowed 10 runs on seven hits and three walks in 4.1 innings, striking out two.

Kruse Brennan had three RBIs on two triples and a walk, Hunter Frederick added two RBIs on two hits and a walk for CKL, London Houska totaled three hits while Conway Collins, Lenz and Cannon Speer each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 10, Winner/Colome 6

PLATTE — Keaton Christensen’s 10-strikeout performance lifted Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake over Winner/Colome during Thursday’s high school baseball action.

Christensen allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings, recording 10 strikeouts in the win. Kenyon Kuiper closed the game allowing two hits and three walks in the final two frames, striking out five.

Kuiper led the offense with three hits, a double, and two RBIs, Hayes DeVries added three RBIs on two hits, one double, Asher Kott totaled two RBIs on two hits and a walk, Maddux VanZee tallied two hits while Jameson Leader drove in a run on one hit in the win.

For WC, Carter Foster took the loss, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks in three innings, striking out one.

Camdyn Anderson drove in three runs on three hits, Carter McKenzie and Zac Olson each had two hits, Adryan Brandis tallied two RBIs on a hit and a walk while Quincy Phillips totaled an RBI on a hit and a walk in the loss.


Tri-Valley 18, Baltic 4

BALTIC — Tri-Valley erupted for 15 hits to blow past Tri-Valley in high school baseball action Friday.

Denton Bicknase and Mason Hemme each had four hits, a double, and two RBIs, Treyson Richter added three hits and two RBIs while Brody Dybvig and Cole Hendrixson each had two hits and an RBI in the win. Lawson Schneiderman tossed 6.2 innings of work, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks, striking out seven.

For Baltic, Elias Oakley allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk in 3.2 innings, striking out six.

Jackson Goehring batted 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, Isaac Oakley added an RBI on one hit while Elias Oakley recorded an RBI in the loss.


Madison/Chester 14, Sioux Valley 3 

VOLGA — JD Prorok struck out 13 batters as Madison/Chester blew past Sioux Valley in high school baseball action Thursday.

Prorok tossed six strong innings, allowing three unearned runs on two hits and a walk while tallying 13 strikeouts.

Ryland Johnson and Tregg McGillivray each had two hits, a walk, and an RBI in the win, Cale Johnson added two hits, including a homer, and four RBIs, Oakley Mees collected three RBIs on two hits, Cohen Hahn had two hits, Quincy Kurtz netted an RBI on one hit while Braylon Oftedal added two RBIs on one hit in the win.

For SV, Damon Uecker took the loss, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks in three innings, striking out two.

Kade Hauck tallied two hits while Isaac Skovlund had an RBI in the loss for the Cossacks.


Canton 11, Tri-County 6

CANTON — Canton scored six runs in the sixth inning as the C-Hawks stunned Tri-County in high school baseball action Thursday.

Keyvin Strand led the offense with four RBIs on three hits, including two doubles in the win, Jacolby Ulrikson added two RBIs on two hits, Alex Rhead tallied two RBIs on one hit, Espn Anderson, Theo Meister and Landon Hill each had a hit and an RBI, Wyette Greenwood recorded three hits and a walk while Ryder Thompson added two hits and a walk in the win.

Meister took the win on the mound in 3.2 innings, allowing one run on one hit and three walks, striking out nine batters.

For TC, Caiden Wherry allowed six runs on three hits and two walks in one inning pitched, striking out two.

Ethan Richard had two RBIs on one hit while Aidan Mulder, Carter Barron and Preston Karstens each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Milbank 14, Deuel 4 (5 innings)

MILBANK — Milbank topped Deuel in mercy-rule fashion during Thursday’s high school baseball action.

Bennett Hunt totaled two hits, including a homer, walk and two RBIs, Tyler Heinje added two RBIs on one hit and a walk, Jaxson Wiese tallied an RBI on a hit and a walk while Brady Allen totaled two walks and an RBI in the win. Keaton Johnson took the win on the mound in four innings of work, allowing four runs on two hits and three walks, striking out six.

For Deuel, Riley Sattler allowed six runs on six hits and two walks in one inning to take the loss.

Sutton Benck and Troy Jenson each had an RBI in the loss for the Cardinals.


Parkston/Ethan 14, Wagner/Andes Central/Avon 2

WAGNER — Wyatt Anderson drove in five runs as Parkston/Ethan rolled to a high school baseball win over Wagner/Andes Central/Avon on Thursday.

Anderson batted 2-for-5 with five RBIs in the win, Grady Bowar added two RBIs on two hits, one triple, and a walk, Reco Muilenberg recorded an RBI on two hits while Jaxx Kurtenbach netted two hits and a walk in the win. Johnny Weber took the win on the mound in three innings of work, allowing one run on seven walks, tallying five strikeouts.

For W/AC/A, Colton Zephier took the loss in three innings of work, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk, striking out three. Connor Gabel tallied the lone hit of the game in the loss.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 16, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 10

SIOUX FALLS — Opland Sonnichsen and Kale Meyer drove in nine runs as Sioux Falls Lincoln pulled away from Roosevelt during Thursday’s high school baseball action.

Sonnichsen batted 4-for-5 with two doubles, a walk, and four RBIs in the win while Meyer added two hits, one homer, and five RBIs for the Pats. Jude Timat totaled three hits, including a solo homer, Malachi Wright drove in a run on a walk while Jacksyn Raak had an RBI on a hit and two walks in the win.

Owen Lechtenberg took the win on the mound in six innings of work, allowing four runs on three hits and five walks, striking out four.

For Roosevelt, Austin Cargin took the loss allowing five runs on six hits and three walks in three innings. Carson Breidenbach and Lawsen Hensley each had two hits and an RBI, Chris Logue and Karl Hartmann each had an RBI on one hit while Tucker DeHaan and Tienan Daly each tallied an RBI in the loss.


Brandon Valley 5, Tea Area 1

BRANDON — Brandon Valley scored all five runs in the third inning to knock off Tea Area in high school baseball action Thursday.

Bryton Stroh drove in two runs on one hit, Brayden Knutson added an RBI on a walk while Jack Blomgren and Mason Veld each had an RBI on one hit in the win. Will VanLeur took the win on the mound in 3.1 innings of work, allowing one run on two hits and eight walks, striking out seven.

For Tea Area, Landyn Johnson took the loss in four innings of work, allowing five runs on three hits and seven walks, striking out six.

Zach Pies, Easton Foudray and Tyson Gilbert each had hits in the loss.
