Sisseton/Britton-Hecla/Webster Area 18, Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney 7 (6 innings)

MITCHELL — Sisseton/Britton-Hecla/Webster Area exploded for 16 hits and 10 walks as the Mallards rolled past Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Levi Nelson led the offense batting 4-for-4 with a double, triple, and an RBI, Rylan Anderson collected three hits, a walk, and an RBI, Mitchell Burger had three RBIs on two hits, Chaz Vietor totaled three RBIs on a triple and a walk, Carter Stickland had two hits, a walk, and two RBIs while Max Dahlen added two hits and an RBI in the win.

Kaden Mills earned the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing five runs on a hit and six walks, striking out eight.

For MVPCS, Keegan Hill allowed seven runs on three hits and five walks in 2.1 innings, striking out five in the loss. Will Tobin totaled two RBIs on one hit, Max Vanden Hoek and Jaeryn Denning each had an RBI on a hit and a walk while Hill drove in a run on two walks in the loss.


Vermillion 18, Belle Fourche 5 (5 innings)

MITCHELL — Trey Hansen, Nolan Nygren and Cooper Reiser combined for 11 RBIs as Vermillion took down Belle Fourche in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Hansen powered the Tanager bats with five RBIs on two hits, including a double, Nygren collected two hits, a double and a triple, two walks and three RBIs while Reiser totaled two hits, a double, and three RBIs in the win. Jackson Beacom, Corbin Heckens, Grant Roerig and Emerson Jarchow each had an RBI in the win as well.

Cale Cleveland took the win on the mound in pitched, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks, striking out four.

For BF, Tate Thomsen took the loss, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks, striking out two.

Raif Parmeter had three RBIs on two homers while Graham VanderBoom added an RBI on a hit in the loss.


Bon Homme 12, Elkton-Lake Benton 4

MITCHELL — Bon Homme drew 13 walks as the Cavaliers rolled past Elkton-Lake Benton in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Cooper Mudder took the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks, striking out seven.

Isaiah Crownover batted 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a walk, Mudder drew three walks while Alex Adler collected four walks as well.

For ELB, Sam Schuurman took the loss allowing eight runs on nine walks in 1.2 innings.

Eliot Erickson tallied three hits, a double, and two RBIs while Colt Beck totaled two hits, a double, and an RBI as well.


Lennox 13, Groton Area 3 (6 innings)

LENNOX — Lennox scored at least one run every inning to power past Groton Area in mercy rule fashion during Sunday’s high school baseball action.

Cole Spieler led the Orioles with three RBIs on three hits, one double, Justin Butler and Mason Reischl each had two RBIs on a hit, combining for four walks as well, Gabe Veurink and Sam Mambas each had an RBI on one hit, Jaxson Bittner totaled two RBIs on two walks while Talen Eich had two doubles and a walk in the win.

Bambas tossed a complete game in the win, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks, striking out four.

For GA, Alex Abeln allowed nine runs on six hits and eight walks in three innings, striking out three.

TC Schuster and Jordan Schwan each drove in a run in the loss.


West Central 11, Groton Area 5

LENNOX — Five different players tallied multi-hit games as West Central cruised to a high school baseball win over Groton Area on Sunday.

CJ Den Boer, Beckett Everson and Eli Koehn each had two hits and an RBI in the win, JT Steckley added two doubles and two RBIs, Gunnar Alfson collected two hits, one double, while Nick Lorang tallied an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

Hayes Cain took the win on the mound in 1.1 innings of work, allowing one run on two walks while striking out four.

For GA, Karsten Fliehs allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks in 4.2 innings, striking out five.

Nick Groeblinghoff and Case Reints each had two RBIs on a hit in the loss.


West Central 4, Lennox 1 (3 innings)

LENNOX — West Central scored all four runs in one inning to beat Lennox in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Gunnar Alfson and H Whiting each had an RBI-single in the win. Beckett Everson allowed one unearned run on two hits and two walks in two innings, striking out one.

For Lennox, Cole Spieler allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks in three innings, striking out five. Justin Butler and Jaxson Bittner each had a hit in the loss for Lennox.


Clark Area 10, Redfield Area 0 (5 innings)

REDFIELD — Watson Grantham tossed a five-inning shutout as Clark Area blanked Redfield Area in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Grantham allowed just one hit and three walks in five shutout innings, recording 13 strikeouts in the winning effort.

Cooper Pommer and Caleb Drenth each had two hits and an RBI, Grantham drove in two runs on a hit and a walk while Charlie Luvaas and Teague Stevenson each had an RBI on one hit and one walk in the win.

For RA, Jackson Rude allowed eight runs on eight hits and five walks in 3.2 innings, striking out five in the loss. Rude collected the only hit of the game for the Muskrats.


Clark Area 6, Redfield Area 5

REDFIELD — Jax Tharaldsen’s walk-off RBI-single pushed Clark Area over Redfield Area in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Tharaldsen finished with two hits and the game-winning RBI in the win, Charlie Luvaas added two hits and a walk while Max Bratland and Teague Stevenson each drove in a run in the win.

Cooper Pommer took the win on the mound in 4.1 innings of work, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out seven.

For RA, C Odland pitched 6.2 innings of work, allowing six runs on five hits and three walks, striking out seven.

Aiden Frankenstein drove in two runs on a double while Jackson Rude, Noah Johnson and Davey Bixler each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Howard 6, Tri-Valley 5 (5 innings)

CANOVA — Howard scored three runs in the final half inning to earn a walk-off win over Tri-Valley in high school baseball action on Sunday.

William Charles drove in three runs on one hit in the win while Nolan Mentele added an RBI on a walk for the Tigers.

Mentele pitched 4.2 innings for Howard, allowing four runs on three hits and six walks, striking out 10 in the win.

For TV, Evan Focken allowed four runs on two hits and two walks in four innings of work, striking out six in the loss. Cooper Durick drove in two runs on a homer and a walk, Denton Bicknase added an RBI on a walk while Tristen Bunde totaled an RBI on a double and a walk in the loss.


Tri-Valley 11, Howard 1 (2 innings)

CANOVA — Tri-Valley poured on 11 first-inning runs to beat Howard in a high school baseball doubleheader on Sunday.

Brody Dybvig drove in three runs on two hits, one homer, Evan Focken collected two hits and an RBI, Tristen Bunde totaled two RBIs on a hit and a walk while Cole Hendrixson added an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

Bunde allowed one unearned run on one hit for TV.

For Howard, Owen Feldhaus allowed three runs on four hits and three walks in one inning. Kingsten Feldhaus tallied the only hit of the game for Howard.


Freeman/Canistota/Marion 13, Wagner/Avon/Andes Central 2 (5 innings)

WAGNER — Easton Tschetter struck out eight batters in four innings as Freeman/Canistota/Marion earned a mercy rule win over Wagner/Avon/Andes Central in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Tschetter allowed just two runs on one hit and two walks in four innings of work, striking out eight in the win.

Tschetter drove in two runs on one hit and two walks at the plate, Hunter Nankivel added two RBIs on two hits, one double, Oliver Waltner added three RBIs on one hit while Alaric Knittel and Easton Miller each had an RBI on one walk in the win.

For W/A/AC, Dominic Doom allowed six runs on two hits and seven walks in three innings, striking out five.

Mason Milk tallied the lone hit in the loss for the Raiders.


Freeman/Canistota/Marion 7, Dakota Valley 2 (5 innings)

WAGNER — Freeman/Canistota/Marion jumped out to a 7-0 lead to beat Dakota Valley in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Tayden Kerrigan drove in two runs on two hits, including a triple, in the win, Riley Tschetter added two RBIs on a hit and a walk, Easton Miller drove in a run while Easton Tschetter tallied an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

Riley Gall took the win on the mound in 4.2 innings, allowing two runs on one hit and 10 walks, striking out five.

For DV, Grady Ramos allowed seven runs on two hits and seven walks in 3.1 innings, striking out one.

Vincent Hoffman tallied the only hit of the game for DV, driving in one run on a double and two walks in the loss.


Parkston 12, Scotland/Menno 1 (5 innings)

MENNO — Wyatt Anderson tossed five strong innings as Parkston ran away from Scotland/Menno in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Anderson allowed one unearned run on three hits and four walks in a complete game on the mound, striking out five to take the win.

Gage Reichert had two RBIs on two hits, Grady Bowar drove in two runs on a hit and two walks, Mason Jervik collected two hits and a walk, Trey Boettcher and Creighton Klumb each tallied an RBI on one hit while Hayden Mette and Anderson each had an RBI on a walk in the win.

For SM, Lane Pavel allowed four runs on one hit and six walks in 2.1 innings, striking out four to take the loss.

Hunter Clark drove in the lone run on one walk in the loss for the Trappers.


Rapid City Stevens 8, Tea Area 2

SIOUX FALLS — Aiden Jacobs tossed 10 strikeouts as Rapid City Stevens beat Tea Area in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Jacobs allowed two runs on five hits and four walks in six innings, striking out 10 in the win.

Tucker Waddell drove in two runs on three hits, Karter Brager added two hits and an RBI, Austin Flohr drove in two runs on one hit while Bridger Mez and Caiden Comparetto each had an RBI in the win.

For TA, Zach Pies took the loss, allowing eight runs on 11 hits and one walk, striking out five.

Easton Foudray tallied two hits and an RBI while Avery Hangman added an RBI on a hit and a walk in the loss.


Sioux Falls Christian 14, Tea Area 4 (6 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Christian erupted for 15 hits as the Chargers rolled Tea Area in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Dylan Knecht batted 4-for-4 with an RBI for SFC, Tate Connell added two hits, a walk and three RBIs, Abbott Moeller had two hits and two RBIs, Jake Humpal drove in three runs on a double, Peter Samp added an RBI on a triple and a walk while Will Focht and Caden Kolterman each drove in a run in the win.

Brooks Clapp took the win on the mound in three innings of work, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk, striking out two.

For TA, Zach Rieland allowed six runs on three hits and four walks in 2.2 innings, striking out four.

Easton Foudray tallied two hits and two RBIs, Landyn Johnson and Miles Jelen each added two hits and a walk, Ethan Knettel collected an RBI on a hit and a walk while Tyson Gilbert drove in a run in the loss.
