Brandon Valley 3, Sioux Falls Jefferson 2

BRANDON — Bryton Stroh’s walk-off homer lifted Brandon Valley over Sioux Falls Jefferson in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Stroh finished with two RBIs on one hit while Grady Gindorff also hit a solo homer in the win. Caleb Severin took the win on the mound in a complete game outing, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk, striking out eight in the win.

For Jefferson, Caden Voss took the loss in six innings of work, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks, striking out four.

Maddox Zens hit a solo homer for the Cavs while Easton Riley added an RBI in the loss.


Brandon Valley 2, Sioux Falls Jefferson 0

BRANDON — Taylor Melby tossed eight strikeouts as Brandon Valley shutout Sioux Falls Jefferson in the second game of a high school baseball doubleheader Tuesday.

Melby allowed one hit and one walk in 6.1 innings, striking out eight in the win. Maxwell Peters drove in one run on one hit while Bryce Plucker and Jack Blomgren each had two hits in the win.

For Jefferson, Kyler Boyd allowed two runs on six hits and two walks in six innings to take the loss, striking out six.

Noah Kuenzi tallied the lone hit of the game for the Cavs.


West Central 5, Sioux Falls Christian 4

HARTFORD — West Central clipped Sioux Falls Christian in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Beckett Everson and Gunnar Alfson each drove in two runs on two hits in the win, including a double and two walks by Alfson.

Alfson tossed 2.2 innings for the Trojans, allowing two runs on four walks while striking out five.

For SFC, Jake Humpal took the loss in five innings of work, allowing five runs on three hits and five walks, striking out eight.

Peter Samp had the only hit of the game for the Chargers in the loss while Hayden Gorsett and Harrison Nickles each had an RBI.


Madison 11, Colman-Egan/Flandreau 1 (6 innings)

MADISON — Tregg McGillivray, Cale Johnson and Oakley Mees drove in a combined seven runs as Madison topped Colman-Egan/Flandreau in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

McGillivray drove in three runs on two hits in the win, Johnson added two RBIs on two hits, Mees added two RBIs while Casyn Crabtree and Nolan Fischer each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Cohen Hahn took the win on the mound in six innings of work, allowing one run on five hits and two walks, striking out five.

For CE/Flandreau, Tyton Peters took the loss, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks in five innings, striking out two.

Jaden Eng had two hits in the loss for CE/Flandreau.


Belle Fourche 12, St. Thomas More 2 (5 innings)

BELLE FOURCHE — Raif Parmeter drove in five runs as Belle Fourche ran away from St. Thomas More in high school baseball action Tuesday.

Parmeter totaled five RBIs on two homers and a walk in the win, Trig Thomsen had two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Tate Thomsen recorded two RBIs on one hit while Urijah Hamilton and Carsyn Hahne each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Caeyn Howard earned the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out five.

For STM, Carter Kemp allowed six runs on three hits and four walks in one inning of work to take the loss. Isaiah Quasney had an RBI while Grayden Juve and Rush Turner each had a hit in the loss.


Sioux Falls Roosevelt 5, Brookings 3

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Roosevelt hung on to beat Brookings in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Karl Hartmann and Austin Cargin each tallied an RBI on a double while Carson Breidenbach drove in a run in the win for the Rough Riders. Chris Logue took the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks, striking out three.

For Brookings, Cooper Schneider drove in two runs on three hits, including a triple, Baker Hanson added two hits while Jase Bauer tallied an RBI on a double in the loss.

Andrew Heinze took the loss on the mound in 5.2 innings, allowing five runs on six hits and six walks, striking out three.


Yankton 9, Sioux Falls Washington 1

YANKTON — Beck Rykens struck out seven batters as Yankton defeated Sioux Falls Washington in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Ryken earned the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing one unearned run on three hits and two walks, striking out seven.

Jackson Kudera drove in three runs on a hit and a walk, Christian Weier drove in two runs on one hit, Carter Boomsma added an RBI on one hit, Brennen Gilmore tallied an RBI while Rykken, Samuel Gokie and Easton Feser each had two hits in the win.

For Washington, Tyler Ringheimer allowed seven runs on six hits in three innings to take the loss.

Brekken Biteler drove in one run on one hit in the loss.


Yankton 4, Sioux Falls Washington 1

YANKTON — Samuel Gokie struck out 11 batters as Yankton swept Sioux Falls Washington in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Gokie allowed just one run on one hit and one walk in a complete game on the mound, recording 11 punch outs.

Easton Feser drove in one run on one hit in the win for the Bucks.

For Washington, Sajen Haas allowed three runs on two hits and four walks in two innings of work, striking out two in the loss.

Caleb Bumann hit a solo home run for the only hit of the game for the Warriors.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 5, Mitchell 4

MITCHELL — Sioux Falls Lincoln held off Mitchell in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Carter Brady took the win on the mound in 6.1 innings, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks, striking out six.

Kale Meyer had an RBI on one hit while Malachi Wright and Reid Atkinson each had an RBI in the win.

For Mitchell, Jacob Ebert took the loss in 5.1 innings, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks, striking out four.

Carter McCormick, Jaxson Hartman and Stratton Forst each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.

 

Mitchell 6, Sioux Falls Lincoln 5

MITCHELL — Mitchell scored five unanswered runs to stun Sioux Falls Lincoln in a high school baseball doubleheader on Tuesday.

Jaxson Hartman and Lincoln Bottom each had an RBI on a hit and a walk while Carter McCormick, Kaiden Allen and Ian Weber each drove in a run in the win. Ethan Hegg tallied three hits for the Kernels as well.

Tyler Christensen took the win on the mound in seven innings of work, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks, striking out four.

For Lincoln, Malachi Wright allowed five runs on seven hits and five walks in five innings of work.

Opland Sonnichsen had an RBI-double, Cooper Hicks tallied two hits, a double, and a walk while Kale Meyer had an RBI in the loss.


O’Gorman 9, Tea Area 4

SIOUX FALLS — A four-run sixth inning separated O’Gorman from Tea Area in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Sam Donohoe and Alex McKinney each had an RBI on one hit in the win, Joey Laible added two RBIs on two hits and a walk while Paxton Sohn and Talec Schlimgen each drove in a run for the Knights.

Landon Nohrenberg took the win on the mound in 4.1 innings of work, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks, striking out four.

For TA, Bryson Prussman allowed five runs on two hits and eight walks in 2.1 innings, striking out three.

Tyson Gilbert drove in a run on two hits, a double and a walk, Ethan Knettel and Zach Rieland each had an RBI on one hit, while Avery Hangman added an RBI on a walk in the loss.
