ARLINGTON — The Arlington girls and Gayville-Volin boys won team titles at Wednesday’s Region 2B meet at the Lake Region Golf Course. 

The Arlington girls scored 12 points, ahead of Chester (37) and Dell Rapids St. Mary (38). Centerville (39) and De Smet (43) rounded out the top-five teams. The Gayville-Volin boys won the team title with 22 points, just ahead of Flandreau Indian (26) and Dell Rapids St. Mary’s (31). Arlington (38) and Viborg-Hurley (42) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Chester’s Emmerson Eppard won the girls race covering the 5,000-meter course in 19:52, ahead of Arlington’s Kaelyn Ulschmid (20:29) and Chester’s Claire McDonald (20:35). Arlington’s Madalyn Madsen (20:59) and Sioux Falls Lutheran’s Clara Pederson (21:23) were the top five girls finishers. 

Arlington’s Lance Kaufman won the boys race (18:08) ahead of McCrossan’s Ethan Hartung (18:24) and Flandreau Indian’s Amon Rockman (18:40). Gayville-Volin’s Will Pirak (18:47) and Viborg-Hurley’s Ben Ferdig (18:50) were the top five boys finishers.
