MILBANK — Dell Rapids outlasted Winner/Colome for its second straight one-run win at the state tournament Saturday.

Drake Eastman took the win on the mound in a seven-inning shutout, allowing one hit and two walks, striking out 13 in the win. Gauge Bunkers tallied two hits, Tad Tjaden and Lincoln Fersdahl each had one hit while Kenny Swanson drew a walk to score the go-ahead run in the sixth inning.

For WC, Aiden Schroeder took the loss, allowing one run on four hits and seven walks in 6.1 innings, striking out four. Quincy Phillips tallied the only hit of the game in the loss for WC.


Groton 4, Clark/Willow Lake 3

MILBANK — Jarrett Erdmann tossed six strong innings as Groton eliminated Clark/Willow Lake from the state tournament Saturday.

Erdmann allowed three runs on three hits and six walks in six innings of work, striking out eight in the win. Gavin Englund tallied two RBIs on one hit, Brevin Fliehs and Nick Morris each drove in a run on one hit while Carter Simon had two hits in the win.

For CWL, Charlie Luvaas took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks in 4.1 innings, striking out four. Collin Gaikowski drove in a run on a hit and a walk, Cooper Pommer collected two RBIs on a hit and a walk while Watson Grantham recorded two hits in the loss.


Dakota Valley 9, Milbank 1

MILBANK — Dakota Valley plated runs in five of the seven innings to eliminate Milbank from the state tournament Saturday.

Jackson Shoulders, Grady Ramos, Noah Graham, and Jack Wiese each drove in a run on one hit in the win, including a homer from Graham, Sterling Schauff plated two runs on one hit while Jake Pick added two hits in the win. Pick took the victory on the mound as well in five innings, allowing one run on three hits and four walks in five innings, striking out six in the win.

For Milbank, Joe Schulte took the loss, allowing four runs on two hits and seven walks in four innings, striking out six. Aiden Kelly had two hits while Mack Koplin added an RBI walk in the loss.


Parkston 5, Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota 2

MILBANK — Kash Neugebauer tossed 10 strikeouts in six innings as Parkston defeated Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota in state tournament action Saturday.

Neugebauer allowed just two runs on four walks in six innings, striking out 10 in the win. James Deckert batted 2-for-2 with a walk, double and an RBI, Kaden Holzbauer drove in a run on a double while Mason Jervik tallied a hit in the win.

For SMFC, Trent Guthmiller allowed four runs on three hits and five walks in 3.2 innings, striking out three. Easton Tschetter drove in a run on one hit and one walk in the loss.
