MITCHELL — Canova used a four-run seventh inning to pull past Clark for a Class B state amateur baseball tournament win on Tuesday.

Trey Krier earned the win after scattering 13 hits, allowing three earned runs and struck out four batters in his eight-inning start. Derek Miller finished 2 of 5 and drove in three runs, while Jared Miller had two hits and two RBI. Cole Gassman had three hits and knocked in a run. Garrett Gassman had two hits, while Kendall Gassman, Riley Genzlinger and Justin Miller each had hits. 

For Clark, Wesley Jones, Bryce DesLauriers, Jess Karber and Jay Huber had two hits apiece. Jeffrey Paulson drove in two runs, while Brent Griffith and Karber drove in runs. David Novak, Rhett Florey, Griffith and Lucas Kannegieter had hits. Hudson Fuller took the loss after allowing seven earned runs on 12 hits, walked five batters and struck out one batter in his 6.2-inning start. 


Larchwood (Iowa) 13, Crofton (Neb.) 0 (7 innings)

MITCHELL — Isaac Horigan threw a seven-inning no-hitter and Micah Linn drove in four runs as Larchwoodn picked up a Class B state amateur baseball tournament win on Tuesday.

Horgan struck out eight batters and issued one walk on 87 pitches. Linn finished 3 of 5 and hit a two-run homer. Cody Groskruetz, Mitch Peschon, Keaton Grevengoed and Gavin Lorenzen had two hits apiece. Lorenzen drove in four runs, while Peschon and Grevengoed each knocked in two runs. Nick Bonte had an RBI. 

For Crofton, Ben Hegge took the loss after allowing four earned runs on six hits and struck out four batters in his 2.2-inning start.
