HURON — Brandon Valley junior Mikah Peters and Harrisburg seventh-grader Brianna Reilly won individual titles at Saturday’s ESD cross-country meet held at the Broadland Creek Golf Course. 

Peters covered the 5,000-meter course in 15 minutes and :32 seconds, ahead of Brookings teammates Trevin Lounsbury (15:46) and Ernest Ting (15:55). Aberdeen Central’s Carson Urlacher (15:58) and Pierre’s Caleb Morris (16:07) rounded out the top-five. 

Harrisburg’s Brianna Reilly won the girls race in 17 minutes and :10 seconds, just ahead of teammate Hannah Genrich (17:13) and Brandon Valley’s Sarah VanDeBerg (18:20). Pierre’s Emery Larson (18:24) and Brandon Valley’s Addison Scholten (18:26) rounded out the top-five girls finishers. 

The Aberdeen Central boys won the team title with 51 points, ahead of Brookings (59) and Brandon Valley (69). Harrisburg easily claimed the girls title with 29 points, ahead of Brandon Valley (48) and Pierre (92).
