SALEM — Behind three individual champions Canton scored 203.5 points to edge Winner Area (171) and McCook Central/Montrose (160) to win Saturday’s McCook Central/Montrose Invitational. Redfield (139) and Philip/Kadoka/Wall Badlands Brawlers (139) rounded out the top-five. 

Canton’s Zach Bartels (106), Ayson Rice (145) and Tanner Meyers (220) all won titles for the C-Hawks. 

Winner Area had three champions, Maxton Brozik (120), Riley Orel (160) and Jack Kruger (182). Kruger was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. Winner Area’s Aiden Wermers (16 seconds) earned the Quickest Pin Award. 

The Philip/Kadoka/Wall Badlands Brawlers had two champions, Jace Blasius (138) and Burk Blasius (170). 

McCook Central/Montrose had two champions. Jackson Remmers eclipsed 200 career wins and won a title (152), while Austin Hoiten (285) closed the tournament with a pin over Redfield’s Grady Fey, Class B’s No. 1 ranked wrestler in that weight class. 

Other champions were Redfield’s Brady Risetter (113), Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes’s Kasen Konstanz (126), Burke/Gregory’s Owen Hansen (132) and Parker’s Charlie Patten (195).

Aberdeen Central edged Miller/Highmore-Harrold for Webster Invitational championship

WEBSTER — Aberdeen Central scored 208.5 points to win Saturday’s Webster Invitational, edging Miller/Highmore-Harrold (200.5) and Border West, Minnesota (117). Deuel (93.5) and Clark/Willow Lake (81.5) points rounded out the top-five. 

Eston Foss (98), Rayden Zens (126), Mason Schrempp (145) and Ayden Gisi (170) all won individual titles for Aberdeen Central. 

Miller/Highmore-Harrold had five champions, Talon Ping (113), Teagan Foreman (132), Colby Kolda (152), Ryder Rowland (160) and Tate Hoffman (182). 

Other individual champions from South Dakota were Clark/Willow Lake’s Cooper Pommer (106), Webster Area’s Haeden Jorgenson (138), Deuel’s Justin Granum (195), Mobridge/Pollock’s Aiden Schoenhard (220) and Ipswich-Bowdle-Leola’s Lucas Rowland (285).
