Palace City 7, Renner 2

MITCHELL — Carter McCormick tossed all seven innings as Palace City took down Renner in Legion baseball action on Wednesday.

McCormick allowed two runs on four hits and four walks in seven innings, striking out eight in the win.

Ian Weber, Brennen Penne and Jaxson Hartman each drove in a run for PC while Kaiden Allen added two hits.

For Renner, Landon Nohrenberg took the loss in four innings on the mound, allowing five runs on two hits and five walks, striking out five.

Alex McKinney tallied two RBIs on a hit and two walks in the loss.


Renner 10, Palace City 5

MITCHELL — Parker Scheidt totaled four RBIs as Renner took down Palace City in the second game of a Legion doubleheader on Wednesday.

Scheidt tallied four RBIs on two hits for Renner, Paxton Sohn had two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Joey Laible added a two-RBI-single while Alex McKinney and Jack Canfield each had an RBI in the win.

Owen Lechtenberg took the win on the mound in five innings pitched, allowing one run on five hits and a walk, striking out five.

For PC, Jacob Ebert took the loss in 1.2 innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and two walks.

Ian Weber had two hits and two RBIs, Kaiden Allen had two hits while Jaxson Hartman and Dawson Adams each drove in a run in the loss.


Spearfish 19, Sturgis 7

STURGIS — Four Spearfish players drove in 13 combined runs as Post 164 took down Sturgis in Legion baseball on Wednesday.

Darin Crooks led the charge with four RBIs on three hits, Walker Viessman added three RBIs on four hits and a walk, Tucker Olson collected three RBIs on three hits and a walk while Owen Bruner had three RBIs on a double and two walks. Sean Sewell had two hits and two walks while Bray Bowar and Tucker Viessman each had an RBI in the win.

Sewell took the win on the mound in 5.2 innings, allowing six runs on six hits and five walks, striking out six.

For Sturgis, Brody Royer allowed four runs on four hits and four walks in two innings, striking out three.

Royer drove in three runs on a double and two walks while Blake Kaufman had two hits and two RBIs in the loss.


Spearfish 14, Sturgis 2 (5 innings)

STURGIS — Spearfish pounded out 13 hits to sweep Sturgis in a Legion baseball doubleheader on Wednesday.

Walker Viessman and Tucker Olson each had three hits and two RBIs, Sean Sewell added three RBIs on two hits and a walk, Owen Bruner had two hits and an RBI while Darin Crooks collected two RBIs on a double and a walk for Spearfish.

Bray Bowar took the win on the mound in five innings pitched, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks, striking out five.

For Sturgis, Cael Pool took the loss in 4.2 innings, allowing 10 runs on 11 hits and a walk, striking out three.

Brody Royer, Jack Jolley and Landon Lyons each had hits in the loss.


Rapid City Stars 14, Pierre 7

RAPID CITY — Max Speed drove in four runs on four hits as Rapid City Post 320 topped Pierre in Legion action on Wednesday.

Speed batted 4-for-4 with two doubles and a homer, driving in four runs. Ben Hassett had a double, triple, and two RBIs. Tegan Sayles collected three RBIs on three hits, Colton Mehlhaff added two RBIs on one hit while Ayden Byrd and Anders Lockhart each drove in a run.

Laken Uttecht pitched six innings for Post 320, allowing one run on five hits and one walk, striking out six.

For Pierre, Bridger Babcock tossed 3.1 innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits and a walk.

Ryker Edson totaled three RBIs on two hits, Jackson Goodman had three hits, Carter Schiefelbein tallied two hits while Hudson Stoeser added two hits and an RBI in the loss.

 

Redfield 15, Volga 7

REDFIELD — Redfield pounded out 12 hits as it topped Volga in Legion baseball action on Wednesday.

Aiden Frankenstein tallied three RBIs on two hits and a walk, Noah Johnson had two RBIs on two hits and a walk, Tate Bray had three RBIs on a hit and two walks, Logan Labrie collected two RBIs on a hit and two walks, Jet Kleinsasser had two hits, two walks and an RBI, Jackson Rude added an RBI on a hit and two walks while Chase Odland added two hits and three walks in the win.

Kleinsasser earned the win on the mound in 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out four.

For Volga, Wyatt Hardt took the loss in three innings pitched, allowing seven runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out three.

Bret Milton had two hits and an RBI, Isaac Skovlund added two hits while Broden Teske, Trentyn Schmit and Kellon Tucker each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Salem 5, Garretson 1

GARRETSON — Zane McCormick struck out 14 batters as Salem pulled away from Garretson in Legion action on Wednesday.

McCormick struck out 14 batters in seven complete innings pitched, allowing a run on two hits and two walks.

Dawson Dorr had three hits for Salem while Trystan Traupel, Nolan Mutziger, Hayes Erickson and Connor Heiberger each drove in a run for Salem.

For Garretson, Ian Buettner allowed four runs on three hits and five walks in 2.1 innings, striking out two.

Carter Siemonsma and Cole Jessen each had a hit in the loss.


Wagner 6, Chamberlain 4

WAGNER — Malakai Segura struck out 12 batters as Wagner clipped Chamberlain in Legion baseball action on Wednesday.

Segura allowed two hits, zero earned runs and walked one batter in 6.1 innings. Segura, Frank Soukup, Dominic Doom, Trasin Dilts drove in runs. 

For Chamberlain, Frederick Vanderlay and Cooper Gerard each drove in runs. Hunter Frederick had two of the team’s three hits. Jeric Klegas took the loss, allowing five hits, five earned runs, two walks and struck out seven batters in 4.1 innings. 


Madison 5, Sioux Falls Post 911 3

SIOUX FALLS — Quinn Flemming struck out 10 batters as Madison picked up a Legion baseball win on Wednesday. 

Flemming scattered nine hits, allowed two earned runs and walked two batters in a complete-game performance. Braylon Oftedal drove in two runs, while Tregg McGillivray, Cale Johnson and Tyler Olson knocked in runs. Ryland Johnson and JD Prorok added hits. 

For Sioux Falls Post 911, Landyn Johnson had two hits and two RBIs. Caden Kolterman had two hits. Will Focht started the game, striking out two batters, allowing four hits, one earned run and walked two batters in three innings. 


Brandon Valley 14, Fremont (Neb.) 5

OMAHA — Taylor Melby drove in five runs to fuel Brandon Valley’s Legion baseball win on Wednesday.

Melby finished 4-for-4, while Jack Blomgren smacked a three-run homer and had two total hits. Will VanLeur had two hits and drove in two runs. Jacob Halseth knocked in two runs, while Brayden Knutson added two hits for Brandon Valley, which had 12 total hits. Caleb Severin earned the win, striking out six batters, allowing six hits, four earned runs and walked seven batters in 3.1 innings. 


Elkhorn North (Neb.) 9, Brandon Valley 8

OMAHA — Brandon Valley dropped a one-run Legion baseball game against Elkhorn (Neb.) on Wednesday.

BV’s Grady Gindorff and Cooper Veld both hammered home runs, with Gindorff hitting a grand slam. Veld had two hits and drove in two runs. Taylor Melby took the loss, allowing three hits, two earned runs, two walks and struck out one batter in one inning of work.
