Hot Springs Notes: The Bison average 42.1 points per game on offense and allow 7.5 points per game on defense. … Hot Springs’ lone loss was against Class 11A No. 1 Dell Rapids, a 20-14 decision. The Bison rattled off seven straight wins, including playoff wins over Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan (55-7), Sioux Valley (49-13) and Rapid City Chrisian (28-10). … Against Rapid City Christian, Camron Maciejewski, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound senior running back/linebacker, rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns. The future Augustana University football player added eight tackles on defense. Braden Peterson added 141 yards rushing and a touchdown against Rapid City Christian. … Hot Springs is making its second-ever trip to the DakotaDome. The Bison lost the 2003 Class 11A state championship to West Central, 48-7. Hot Springs won the 1974 mythical Class B state football championship.

Elk Point-Jefferson Notes: The Huskies average 35.3 points per game on offense and allow 9.5 points per game on defense. … Elk Point-Jefferson’s lone setback was against Sioux Valley, a 20-11 defeat. After the loss, EPJ won its next eight games and picked up wins over Groton Area (48-13), Tri-Valley (14-7) and Winner (21-16) in the playoffs. … Against Winner, Keaton Gale completed 7 of 9 passes for 87 yards and touchdown, while rushing for another score. Jacob Gale added 64 yards rushing. … Elk Point-Jefferson is making its second straight appearance at the DakotaDome. The Huskies won their first-ever state football championship last season, a 21-14 win over Winner.
