Brandon Valley 55, Sioux Falls Jefferson 41

RAPID CITY — Three players reached double figures as Brandon Valley secured a spot in the Class AA semifinals Thursday. The Lynx will play Harrisburg or O’Gorman Friday at 7:45 p.m., MT, in the state semifinals.

Landon Dulaney fell just shy of a triple-double posting 10 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, Grant Hennen added 10 points and eight rebounds, Aiden Zerr recorded 10 points and five rebounds, while Mach Mayen totaled nine points and seven boards in the win.

Sioux Falls Jefferson’s Kuek Kuek led the Cavaliers with 12 points, Damaris Fields added eight points while Colby Nuttbrock and Edward Whiting each tallied seven points, including seven rebounds for Whiting in the loss. The Cavaliers will play Harrisburg or O’Gorman Friday at 1:45 p.m., MT, in the consolation semifinals.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 55, Spearfish 33

RAPID CITY — Three players reach double figures as Sioux Falls Lincoln took down Spearfish in the opening round of the Class AA state tournament Thursday. Lincoln will take on Mitchell in the semifinals Friday at 6 p.m., MT.

Sam DeGroot led the Patriots with 15 points, Sam Ericksson collected 13 points and three rebounds, Brody Schafer had 11 points, assists and five rebounds, while Isaiah Teer tallied seven points and three rebounds in the win.

Spearfish’s Cooper Gibbs recorded eight points and eight rebounds, Dylon Doren totaled seven points and 10 boards, while Bennett Kortan netted five points in the loss. The Spartans take on Huron Friday at 12 p.m., MT, in the consolation semifinals.


Mitchell 50, Huron 41

RAPID CITY — Gavin Hinker and Markus Talley combined for 34 points in Mitchell’s quarterfinal win over Huron at the Class AA state tournament. The Kernels will take on Sioux Falls Lincoln Friday at 6 p.m., MT, in the state semifinals.

Hinker led Mitchell with 18 points and three rebounds while Talley added 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Colton Smith totaled nine points and three rebounds, while Parker Mandel netted five in the win.

Huron’s Blake Ellwein led with 16 points and three rebounds while Anderson Porisch tallied eight points and three boards in the loss. Huron will take on Spearfish Friday at 12 p.m., MT, in the consolation semifinals.
