Class AA Boys Basketball Roundup - Brandon Valley holds off No. 2 Harrisburg to advance to AA title game

Brandon Valley 61, Harrisburg 52 

SIOUX FALLS — Brandon Valley outscored Harrisburg 19-11 in the fourth quarter to defeat No. 2 seed Harrisburg Friday. 

Josh Olthoff led the Lynx with 20 points while Aiden Zerr added 15 and Heydon Anderson had 14 points and 12 rebounds. 

Jacoby Mehrman led the Tigers with 15 points  and Braeden VanBockern added 10 points. 

Brandon Valley led 30-25 at halftime and held a 42-41 lead going into the fourth quarter. 

The Lynx will play Mitchell Saturday night for the AA championship while Harrisburg will play Sioux Falls Washington for third place 

Mitchell 72, Sioux Falls Washington 51 

SIOUX FALLS — Mitchell outscored Sioux Falls Washington 23-8 in the first quarter and rolled into Saturday’s championship game with a win Friday. 

Gavin Soukup led the Kernels with 22 points and Markus Talley added 21 points while Colton Smith grabbed 14 rebounds. 

Jhace Woods led the Warriors with 16 points and Thomas Hoffman added 10. 

Mitchell led 37-17 at halftime and 57-36 at the end of the third quarter. 

The Kernels will play Brandon Valley for the Class AA title Saturday while Sioux Falls Washington will play Harrisburg for third place. 

Watertown 54, Huron 51

SIOUX FALLS — Watertown clipped Huron for a Class AA boys basketball tournament win on Friday.

Watertown’s Dylon Rawdon finished with 20 points, while Will Engstrom had 11 points. Kohen Kranz scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds. Caden Beauchamp added eight points and four rebounds.

Huron’s Blake Ellwein finished with 27 points and nine rebounds. Anderson Porisch had six points. 

Sioux Falls Jefferson 60, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 38

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double-figures Friday as Sioux Falls Jefferson defeated Sioux Falls Roosevelt. Advancing to Saturday’s AA consolation championship.

Jefferson’s Daniel Jones recorded 12 points and four rebounds. Damaris Fields and Dawson Sechser finished with 11 points apiece. Tyler Bohannon added 10 points and six rebounds. Braylon Bear had eight points and six rebounds. Mason Payne posted six points. 

For Roosevelt, Naser Ismail recorded 12 points. Hayden Goff posted eight points and five rebounds. Isaiah Garang posted six points, while Tayden Nave added five points.
