RAPID CITY — Since South Dakota high school volleyball was split in three classes in 1982, no Class AA team has done what Harrisburg is chasing this week: a four-peat.

The Tigers have won the past three Class AA state championships, and no other Class AA program has won three in a row. Harrisburg can cement itself among the all-time greats with a four-peat, starting Thursday at the Summit Arena at the Monument. 

The Tigers will play No. 8 Mitchell at 11 a.m. MT in the first round, followed by No. 4 Lincoln vs. No. 5 Watertown at 12:45 p.m. MT to cap the afternoon session. In the evening session, No. 2 Brandon Valley will play No. 7 Washington at 5 p.m. MT, followed by No. 3 O’Gorman vs. No. 11 Jefferson at 6:45 p.m. MT to cap the first day. 

No. 1 Harrisburg (32-2)
