Class B Girls Roundup - Harding County upends Bennett County, faces Parkston in state semifinals

Harding County 58, Bennett County 55

BROOKINGS — A balanced scoring attack guided Harding County over Bennett County in the opening round of the Class B state girls basketball tournament Thursday.

Kaylen Padden led the Ranchers with 15 points, four rebounds and three steals, Maci Wammen added 12 points, Macey Wendt totaled seven points and three rebounds, Kamry Padden collected seven points and four steals, Carson Page and Raelee Hunsucker each had six points, Brayden Padden netted five points and four steals, while Sattyn Wilson snatched six steals in the win.

For BC, Peyson O’Neill finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two blocks while Reagan O’Neill added 19 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals in the loss.


Corsica-Stickney 65, Lyman 56 

BROOKINGS — Braylee Bordewyk exploded for 26 points as No. 8 Corsica-Stickney upset No. 1 Lyman in the opening round of the Class B state girls basketball tournament Thursday.

Bordewyk finished with 26 points, five rebounds and five assists in the win, Haydnn Johnson added 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Sophie DeLange tallied 12 points while Remi Nelson poured in eight points, four assists and three rebounds in the win.

For Lyman, Jordyn Scott totaled 28 points and eight boards, Kenzie Wagner added 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Mak Scott totaled six points, 11 rebounds and three assists while Bree Smart and Brooke Montgomery each had five points in the loss.


Ethan 51, Colman-Egan 42

BROOKINGS — Three players scored in double figures as Ethan took care of Colman-Egan in the opening round of the Class B state girls basketball tournament Thursday.

Rachel Klock led the Rustlers with 17 points and nine rebounds, Taziah Hawkins added 12 points and three boards, Sadie Mueller added 11 points, Marissa Storm collected six points while Macie Dean had five points in the win.

For CE, Jolie Flatten led the charge with 22 points, Quinn Meyer added 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, Brynlee Landis totaled six points and six rebounds while Mya Reiff added four points in the loss.


Parkston 46, Centerville 39

BROOKINGS — Berkley Ziebart’s 26-point burst powered Parkston over Centerville in Thursday’s opening round of the Class B state girls basketball tournament.

Ziebart finished with 26 points and seven rebounds in the win, Keeara Oakley added 13 points, 12 boards and four assists while Kennedy Knippling added five points for the Trojans.

For Centerville, Izzie Eide poured in 22 points with eight points, Lydia Austin added seven points and four rebounds while Peyton Hansen netted six points in the loss.
