Class B boys top Class A boys in high scoring affair at Three Class Shootout

SALEM — Faith’s Jackson Schauer made eight 3-pointers on his way to a 32 point outburst that helped the Class B boys knock off the Class A boys 117-113 at the Three-Class Shootout in Salem Saturday. 

Five players reached double-figures for Class B with Howard’s Kolt Koepsell scoring 16 points  and grabbing ten rebounds while Canistota’s Tage Ortman scored 11 points. White River’s Nic Marshall, Mitchell Christian’s Aiden Lieber and  Faulkton Area’s Layne Cotton each had ten points for Class B.

Groton Area’s Lane Tietz pumped in a game high 22 points for the Class A squad while Dakota Valley’s Jaxon Wigert added 21 points. Hamlin’s Tyson Stevenson scored 16 points with Canton’s Matt Anderson and Lennox’s Porter Inhen each putting up 13 points.

SALEM — Six players reached double figures Saturday as the Class A boys outlasted the Class AA boys, 99-92 at the Three Class Shootout in Salem. 

Dakota Valley’s Jaxon Wingert led all scorers with 26 points. Groton Area’s Lane Tietz posted 17 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. Hamlin’s Tyson Stevenson scored 13 points, Canton’s Matt Anderson added 11 points with Baltic’s Jack Erickson and West Central’s Jake Kuhl adding 10 points and five rebounds. 

Sioux Falls Roosevelt’s Naser Ismail led the AA squad with 19 points while Harrisburg’s Cam Phipps pumped in 16 points and eight rebounds. Mitchell’s Gavin Soukup added 15 points and Harrisburg’s Braeden VanBockern added 11 points. 


AA girls edge Class B girls in Three Class Shootout Saturday

SALEM — The Class AA girls made 14 3-pointers with four players reaching double figures as the AA girls edged the Class B girls, 82-76 at the Three-Class Shootout Saturday in Salem. 

Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Lucy Moore made five 3-pointers and led the AA squad with 19 points. Yankton’s Claire Tereshinski added 16 points. Harrisburg’s Abby Flanagan finished with 11 points and Sioux Falls Jefferson’s Jaidyn Dunn scored 10 points.

Howard’s Abby Aslesen led the Class B squad with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Lyman’s Skyler Voler added 14 points. Wessington Springs’s Avery Orth finished with 12 points and Tripp Delmont/Armour’s Meagan Reiner finished with 10 points.  


AA girls edge Class A girls 89-85 at Three Class Shootout Saturday

SALEM — Sioux Falls O’Gorman players Lucy Moore and Mahli Abdouch both scored 19 points as the AA girls edged the Class A girls 89-85 at the Three Class Shootout in Salem. 

Sioux Falls Jefferson’s Jaidyn Dunn had 13 points. Harrisburg’s Jaylee Hofer added 12 points for the AA squad. 

Tea Area’s Katy Vasecka led the Class A girls with 21 points and six rebounds. Flandreau’s Claire Sheppard pumped in 16 points. Florence/Henry’s Caylin Kelly scored 13 points and Flandreau’s Lily Klein added 11 points.
