PARKSTON — Behind region 3B champions Maxton Brozik (126) and Stetson Shelbourn and eight other state qualifiers, Winner Area claimed the region 3B title Saturday. 

The Warriors scored 206.5 points, ahead of Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes (178) and Miller/Highmore-Harrold (175). Bon Homme/Avon (154.5) and Parkston (137) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Wagner had a solid day getting region titles from Karstyn Lhotak (132), Jhett Breen (165) and Gannon Knebel (190). 

Burke/Gregory’s Judd Hansen (106) pinned Winner Area’s Rylan Robbins (Class B, No. 1 ranked) for the Storm’s only region title.

Region 1B - Kingsbury County edges Faulkton Area to win region 1B title

GETTYSBURG — By the closest of margins, half a point, Kingsbury County edged Faulkton Area for Saturday’s Region 1B wrestling title. 

Kingsbury County scored 177 points, ahead of Faulkton Area (176.5) and Clark/Willow Lake (148). Redfield (133) and Groton Area (109) rounded out the top-five teams.

Cody Zell (120) and Gannon Gilligan (126) both won titles for Kingsbury County. 

Landon Coyle (144) and Lincoln Dikoff (215) won titles for Faulkton Area.

 Region 2B - Canton qualifies 13 wrestlers, topples field for Region 2B wrestling title

CANTON — As the Canton C-Hawks go for a record seventh consecutive Class B state title next week they will do so with 13 wrestlers qualifying for the state meet. 

The C-Hawks rolled to the Region 2B title Saturday scoring 299 points, well ahead of Parker (186) and Tri-Valley (158). McCook Central/Montrose (138) and Elk Point-Jefferson (111) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Twelve Canton grapplers reached the individual finals with Carter Kendrick (106), Zach Bartels (120), Aiden Schrempp (126), Ashton Keller (132), Teague Granum (144), Ayson Rice (150) and Traun Cook (285) all won region titles. 

Other region championships were claimed by Marion/Freeman’s Brody Gossen (113), Parker’s Michael Even (138), Howard’s Jackson Remmers (150), Howard’s Weston Remmers (157), McCook Central/Montrose’s Carter Randall (175), McCook Central/Montrose’s Will Rotert (190) and Parker’s Levi Wieman (215).

FORT PIERRE — Behind five region champions and 11 state qualifiers the Philip/Kadoka Area/Wall Badlands Brawlers edged Custer for top honors at Saturday’s region 4B wrestling tournament.

Philip/Kadoka Area/Wall Badlands Brawlers scored 265 points, ahead of Custer (239.5) and Bennett County (142). Stanley County (127) and Lead-Deadwood (108.5) rounded out the top-five teams Saturday. 

Gatlin Cordes (106), Jace Blasius (144), Ryker Peterson (150), Kale Crowser (157) and Thane Simons (165) each won region titles for the Brawlers. 

Tyler Trant (113), Tray Weiss (120), Riley Scott (132), Ryder Bailey (175), Parker Noem (190) and Zaye Severyn (285) won region titles for Custer.
