ELK POINT — The Dakota Valley boys won the Region 2A golf tournament Monday at the Pointe Golf Course. 

The Panthers carded a score of 308, ahead of Tea Area (312) and Vermillion (318). Those three teams qualified for next week’s Class A state golf tournament on Oct. 2-3 at Rapid City’s Hart Ranch Golf Club. 

Individually Tea Area’s Derek Anderson shot a two over par (70) to claim medalist honors, ahead of Dakota Valley’s Logan Collette (76), Canton’s Carson Steffensen (76) and Tea Area’s Keeton Newborg (76) who all tied for second place.
