Dec. 11 Wrestling Roundup - Rapid City Stevens captures Rapid City Invitational title
Taylor Graveman of Spearfish wrestles Ellie Roseland of Hettinger (ND) in the girls 132-pound final Saturday at the Rapid City Invite at the Summit Arena in Rapid City. Graveman is ranked No. 4 in the country defeated Roseland by a pin in 48 seconds.

RAPID CITY -- Behind three first-place finishers, Rapid City Stevens captured the Rapid City Invitational on Saturday. 

The Raiders finished with 215 points, finishing ahead of second-place Watertown (192.5). Harrisburg (185), Pierre (177.5) and Sturgis (171.5) rounded out the top-five. 

Rapid City Stevens’ Corbin Zent (106), Jack Schoenhard (120) and Logan Graf (126) picked up individual titles to key the team title. Zent earned a 3-1 win over Harrisburg’s Tyler Wurth for his title. Schoenhard picked up a 10-2 major decision win over Pierre’s Noah Williams in his title match. Graf defeated Tea Area’s Maddix Slykhuis, 5-2, to win the 126-pound championship match. 

Watertown’s Sloan Johannsen (113), Huron’s Moses Gross (132) and Pierre’s Blake Judson (138) and Harrisburg’s Jack Detert (195) were South Dakota wrestlers to also earn individual titles.

MCM captures Ken Ruml team title 

HOWARD -- McCook Central/Montrose claimed the Ken Ruml Invitational team title on Saturday. 

MCM finished with 146.5 points, finishing ahead of second-place Parker (132) and third-place Wagner (124.5). Howard (121) and Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney (114.5) rounded out the top-five. 

MCM’s Jackson Remmers (145) and Kade Grocott (195) won individual titles to power the team title. 

Wagner’s Karstyn Lhotak (106), Jhett Breen (132) and Brennan Leines (285) won individual titles. Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney’s Hadley Tobin (126) and Griffin Tobin (152) also earned individual titles. Parkston’s Kaden Holzbauer (113) and Noah Mahoney (182) also won individual championships.  

Other individual champs included Kingsbury County’s Gannon Gilligan (120), Webster Area’s Cael Larson (138), Howard’s John Callies (160), Tri-Valley’s Mason Hendrickson (170) and Parker’s Levi Wieman (220).

KWLPG wins Faulkton Invitational title

FAULKTON -- Six individual winners powered Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes to the Faulkton Invitational team title on Saturday. 

KWLPG racked up 265.5 points, while Sisseton placed second with 165.5 points. Oakes, North Dakota (160.5), Clark/Willow Lake (136.5) and Faulkton Area (108) rounded out the top-five. 

KWLPG’s Kasen Konstanz (120), Iden Meyers (132), Carter Lenz (145), Grayson Hanson (160), Levi Nightingale (195) and Kameron Styles (285) captured individual titles to key the victory. 

Sisseton’s second-place finish was powered by individual winners Reed Gray (106), Holden Hawkins (113) and Carter Metz (170).

Other individual champs included Potter County’s Lane Stuwe (96), Bryce Hawkinson (126), Faulkton Area’s Parker Geditz (138), Clark/Willow Lake’s Lucas Kannegieter (182) and Warner/Northwestern’s Preston Cavalier (220).

Burke/Gregory wins home invite

GREGORY -- Behind three individual winners, Burke/Gregory won its home invitational on Saturday. 

Burke/Gregory recorded 173 points, finishing ahead of Custer (132) and Lyman (117). Miller/Highmore-Harrold (94.5) and Stanley County (42.5) rounded out the top-five. 

Owen Hansen (132), Mason Hood (152) and Taron Serr (195) each won their respective weight classes for the Storm. 

Custer’s Riley Scott (106), Tray Weiss (113) and Parker Noem (170) won individual titles for the Wildcats. 

Lyman’s Kellen Griffith (138), Shilo Mowry (145) and Tance Wagner (160) won their respective weight classes. 

Kellan Hurd (120) and Tate Hoffman (182) won individual titles for Miller/Highmore-Harrold. Stanley County’s Chase Hanson (126) and Hill City’s Tanner Davis (285) also won individual titles.
