Dec. 3 Boys Wrestling Roundup - Winner Area wins KWLPG Invitational
Winner’s Riley Orel gets a takedown of Miller-Highmore-Harrold Ryder Rowland during the 170-pound semifinal Saturday at the Kimball/White Lake-Platte/Geddes Invitational in Kimball. Orel ended up advancing to the finals with a 5-3 decision win.

KIMBALL — Behind six individual winners, Winner Area captured Saturday’s Kimball/White Lake-Platte/Geddes Invitational team title. The Warriors posted 209 points, finishing ahead of Miller/Highmore-Harrold (160) and Parkston (148.5).

Winner Area’s Rylan Robbins (106), Maxton Brozik (126), Karson Keiser (138), Riley Orel (170), Jack Kruger (195) and Stetson Shelbourn (285) all earned individual championships. 

Miller/Highmore-Harrold’s Talon Ping (113) and Colby Kolda (160) captured titles in their respective weight classes. Wagner’s Karstyn Lhotak (120) and Jhett Breen (152) both picked up individual titles. 

Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes’ Kasen Konstanz (132), Parkston’s Wyatt Anderson (145), Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington’s Keegan Haider (182) and Warner/Northwestern’s Preston Cavalier (220) earned individual championships.

Badlands Brawlers logs six individual champions at Stanley County Invitational

FORT PIERRE — The Philip/Kadoka Area/Wall Badlands Brawlers logged six individual champions at Saturday’s Stanley County Invitational

Gage Ravellette (152), Blair Blasius (160), Burk Blasius (170), Mason Heath (182), Quinn Moon (195) and Jensen Fitch (220) all picked up wins for the Brawlers. 

Other individual winners were Potter County’s Nicholas Schlachter (113), Stanley County’s Chase Hanson (132), Lyman’s Kellen Griffith (145) and Lyman’s Louie Thiry (285).

New Salem-Almont, North Dakota captured the team title at Saturday’s Stanley County Invitational. The Holsteins racked up 194 points, finishing ahead of the Badlands Brawlers (193) and Lyman (118). 

New Salem-Almont’s Hudson Buchholz-Casson (106), Aiden Hagemeister (120), Trenton Klatt (126) and Cole Gerhardt (138) all captured titles for the Holsteins.

Kingsbury County wins Clark/Willow Lake WBC Invitational

CLARK — Kingsbury County captured the team title at Saturday’s Clark/Willow Lake WBC Invitational wrestling tournament. Kingsbury County racked up 186 points, finishing ahead of Faulkton Area (162) and Pierre’s junior varsity (118). 

Kingsbury County’s Greyson Nielson (126), Cannon Gilligan (138), Dylan Zell (145) and Tucker Anderson (170) all claimed titles for the Knights. 

The Pierre junior varsity had four champions in Lucas Chamberlin (160), Ethan Martinmaas (182), Rylan Shrake (195) and Lucas Colman (285). 

Clark/Willow Lake had a pair of champions in Cooper Pommer (106) and Josh Kannegieter (152). 

Other individual winners were Webster Area’s Tacey Miller (113), Ortonville Minnesota’s Cody Klepel (120), Faulkton Area’s Carter Schulte (132), and Canton junior varsity wrestler Canaan McCracken (220).

Madison grapplers claim two titles on way to second place finish at Flandreau Booster Club Invitational

FLANDREAU — The Madison wrestlers had two individual champions and claimed second place at the Flandreau Booster Club Invitational wrestling tournament Saturday. Luverne, MN.

Madison’s champions were Wyatt Pickard (106) and Caleb Hodges (138). 

Elk Point-Jefferson had a pair of champions with Ben Swatek (170) and Gavin Jacobs (182) winning their weight classes. 

Luverne, Minnesota, captured the team title racking up 169 points, finishing ahead of Madison (139) and Deuel (124).

Howard had a pair of champions in Conner Giedd (120) and Tate Miller (145) while Deuel had a pair of champions in Ryker Gauger (113) and Gavin Kloos (132)

Other individual winners were Sioux Valley’s Skyler Trygstad (152), Red Rock Central’s Vander Mathiowetz (195) and Red Rock’s Keaton Skarupa (220) and Garretson’s Jaden Richter (285).

West Central wins Rider Boys Invitational wrestling tournament

SIOUX FALLS — West Central captured the team title Saturday at the Rider Boys Invitational wrestling tournament. The Trojans racked up 257 points, finishing ahead of Sioux Falls Jefferson (206) and Sioux Falls Lincoln (181).

West Central’s Karson Vessells (120), Langdon Klinkhammer (132), Chandler Carda (152), Chet Carda (182) and Gavin Pischke (285) all claimed titles for the Trojans. 

Sioux Falls Lincoln had a pair of champions in Hudson Cisar (113), and Bentley Williams (138). Sioux Falls Jefferson had two individual champions in Aiden Wells (106) and Graham Wilde (126). Vermillion had a pair of champions in Michael Roob (145) and Rollie French (195). Sioux Falls O’Gorman also had a pair of champions in Keenan Sheridan (160) and Aiden Kenable (170). 

Beresford/Alcester-Hudson picked up a title from Aaron Larson (220).

Tea Area wins Marv Sherrill Dual Tournament

WATERTOWN — Tea Area claimed a title Saturday at the Marv Sherrill Dual Tournament in Watertown with a win over Watertown. 

The Titans defeated Watertown, 41-31, in the first-place dual. Tea Area also had wins over Yankton (72-9), Aberdeen Central (38-30) and Milbank (60-23). 

Watertown reached the final with wins over Huron (78-6), Canby, Minnesota (60-13) and Mitchell (75-5).
