Wall 61, Hot Springs 34

WALL — Wall rolled past Hot Springs for a Thursday high school boys basketball win. 

Wall’s Emmet Dinger scored 17 points, while Jace Mohr finished with 11 points. Teelan Kjerstad scored 10 points. Trevor Schulz had five points and Deacon Haerer had six points.

For Hot Springs, Aidyn Janis finished with a game-high 22 points. McCoy Rippentrop netted six points. 


Bismarck Century (N.D.) 76, Pine Ridge 63

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Class A No. 5 Pine Ridge’s Marvin Richard III erupted for a career-high 49 points in a loss against North Dakota Class AA No. 4 Bismarck Century on Thursday.

Richard III’s 49 points ties the Pine Ridge boys basketball single-game scoring record, set by Will Garner in 1966. 


Girls Basketball Roundup  

Sisseton 77, Sioux Valley 64

SISSETON — Krista Langager poured in 32 points for Sisseton as the Redmen picked up the victory over Sioux Valley during Thursday’s high school girls basketball action.

Langager recorded 32 points on 58% shooting, racking up 17 rebounds and two blocks. Alexia Quinn tallied 11 points, six rebounds and nine assists, Ruby Rice had 12 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Tara Nelson totaled nine points, seven rebounds and four assists. Elliot Hortness had four points, two rebounds and three assists in the win as well.

SV’s Talya Vincent led the scoring output with 19 points, including five three-pointers, five rebounds and four assists, Liberty Trygstad and Kailey Cradduck each totaled 15 points, including eight rebounds by Cradduck. Amari Ward recorded six points and five rebounds in the loss as well.


Faulkton Area 55, Wessington Springs 47

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Three players scored in double figures as Faulkton Area topped Wessington Springs in Thursday high school girls basketball action. 

Anika Mueller led Faulkton Area with 27 points and four rebounds. Carley Cotton added 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers. Presleigh Martinmaas had 10 points, nine rebounds and five steals. 

For Wessington Springs, Mariah Messmer finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Kenzie Kolousek recorded eight points. Ashlyn Weber added seven points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Addyson Orth had six points and five rebounds. Kerstynn Heim added six points.


Flandreau 62, Chester Area 51

FLANDREAU — Morgan Sheppard’s double-double lifted Flandreau over Chester Area during Thursday’s high school girls basketball action.

Sheppard recorded 18 points and 14 rebounds, Sadie Iott tallied 23 points, five rebounds and six assists, while Hannah Krull had eight points and seven rebounds for the Fliers.

Chester Area’s Emmerson Eppard led the charge with 23 points, Katelyn Schut recorded 13 points, while Jacy Wolf tallied 10 points in the loss.


Milbank 67, Wahpeton (N.D.) 62

MILBANK — Milbank outlasted Wahpeton, North Dakota, for a Thursday high school girls basketball win. 

Milbank’s Isabella Anderson tossed in 28 points. Tyra Berry netted 18 points and Josie Riveland added 10 points. 

For Wahpeton, Scout Woods scored 23 points.
