Girls Basketball Roundup 

Aberdeen Central 39, Rapid City Central 26

RAPID CITY — Taryn Hermansen and Lauryn Burckhard powered Aberdeen Central to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Hermansen finished with 16 points and six rebounds. Burckhard added 14 points, four rebounds and four 3-pointers. Kenadi Withers added six rebounds. Kamdyn Borge had five rebounds and three points. 

For Rapid City Central, Leah Landry had 18 points and eight rebounds. Chloe Shreve posted six points and six rebounds. 


Wagner 71, Winner 57

WAGNER — Ashlyn Koupal powered Class A No. 3 Wagner to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Koupal recorded 32 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and three blocked shots. Lydia Yost added 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Braxton Nedved posted 11 points, five rebounds and four assists. Ravyn Medricky had seven points, seven rebounds and three assists. 

For Winner, Lilly Barfuss had 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Adysen Pravecek had 10 points and three steals. Livvy Audiss added nine points and three rebounds. Keelie Kuil had seven points and six assists. Olivia Swedlund recorded six points and four rebounds. Kylie Sachtjen had five points, four rebounds and three assists. 


Lemmon 57, Timber Lake 28

LEMMON — Lemmon coasted past Timber Lake for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Lemmon’s Jordyn Kohn finished with 19 points and five assists. Brynn Odenbach added 16 points and seven steals. Madison Dauwen posted 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Izzie O’Donnell had seven points.

For Timber Lake, Kessa Bigger scored 12 points. Jasmine Nash added eight points and eight rebounds. Jaylee Schoelerman scored five points. 

 

Sully Buttes 53, North Central 50

BOWDLE — Sully Buttes clipped North Central in Friday high school girls basketball action. 

Sully Buttes’ Payge Bakker finished with a game-high 26 points. Scotlynn Kinney recorded 10 points. Sheridan Voorhees added six points, while Olivia Olson had five points.

For North Central, Amree VanderVorst finished with 18 points. Ella Batie scored 15 points, while Tylee VanderVorst scored 10 points.


Irene-Wakonda 42, Bon Homme 32

IRENE — Irene-Wakonda picked up the season-opening victory over Bon Homme during Friday’s high school girls basketball action.

Madison Orr tallied 10 points, eight rebounds and two steals to power the Eagle attack. Maryn Lyngstad had nine points, six rebounds, four steals and two assists, Brenna Lyngstad had six points while Julia Sees and Emily Oien each recorded five points in the win.

BH’s Kenadee Kozak tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, one steal and an assist, Olivia Kaul had 11 points and two rebounds, while Neveah Meyers totaled six rebounds in the loss.


Parkston 51, Tri-Valley 33

PARKSTON — Class B No. 4 Parkston had three girls in double digits as it defeated Tri-Valley during Friday’s high school basketball action.

Keeara Oakley tallied 12 points, four rebounds and two assists, Mya Thuringer recorded 12 points, five rebounds, five blocks and five assists, Lauren Ziebart recorded 10 points and six rebounds, while Morgan Maxwell had six points, two rebounds and two assists in the loss.

Mattie Huwe led the Mustangs with 11 points, Hailey Sorenson recorded six points and two rebounds, while Izy Davey and Emery Pearson each had three points in the loss.


Britton-Hecla 45, Tiospa Zina 29

BRITTON — Britton-Hecla pulled past Tiospa Zina for a Friday high school girls basketball win.

Britton-Hecla’s Heather Storbakken finished with 13 points, while Daynika Zuehlke posted 11 points. Karlie Zuehlke had eight points and RaeAnn Hagenson scored seven points.

For Tiospa Zina, Journee Haley scored 10 points. Ava German scored six points. 


Boys Basketball Roundup

Freeman 57, Viborg-Hurley 52 (OT)

FREEMAN — Freeman outlasted Class B No. 2 Viborg-Hurley in an overtime boys basketball game on Friday.

Freeman’s David Walter had 18 points and seven rebounds. Chris Aasen added 16 points and three rebounds. Tate Sorensen had 11 points and 10 boards. Luke Peters posted seven points, five rebounds and four assists. Tannen Auch had five points and four rebounds. Tayden Kerrigan posted six rebounds and four assists. 

Viborg-Hurley stats were not reported. 


Castlewood 57, Waubay-Summit 56

CASTLEWOOD — Brody Bass hit a layup with 8.8 seconds left and Class B No. 1 Castlewood clipped Waubay-Summit in Friday high school boys basketball action.

Castlewood’s Bryon Laue finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Luke Baumberger scored 11 points. Bass and Jamison Keszler posted eight points. Kamden Keszler scored six points.

For Waubay-Summit, Camden Neilan scored 20 points. Traveion Neilan scored 13 points and Dylan Rumpza had nine points. Hogan Hlavacek scored eight points. 


Pine Ridge 52, Cody (Wyo.) 48

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Pine Ridge’s Marvin Richard III erupted for another high-scoring output on Friday.

Marvin Richard III poured in 34 points, including five 3-pointers in the victory. He finished 7-of-8 at the free-throw line. Anthony Steele scored 14 points. 


Hamlin 69, Groton Area 41

HAYTI — Easton Neuendorf powered Class A No. 2 Hamlin to a Friday high school boys basketball win. 

Neuendorf finished with a game-high 27 points and hit three 3-pointers. Evan Stormo had 17 points and Zac VanMeeteren logged 14 points. Turner Stevenson scored six points.

For Groton Area, Ryder Johnson scored 15 points. Keegan Tracy scored 10 points. Easton Weber and Karson Zak scored five points apiece. 


White River 44, Jones County 33

MURDO — White River topped Jones County in Friday high school boys basketball action. 

White River’s Bryson One Star finished with 16 points. Teagen Bouman and Riley Bouman scored 11 points apiece. 

For Jones County, Dawson Hunt finished with 13 points and Asa Best had eight points. Jace Nix scored seven points. 


Lemmon 64, Timber Lake 62

LEMMON — Lemmon rallied past Timber Lake for a Friday high school boys basketball win.

Lemmon’s Blair Ham finished with 25 points, 17 rebounds and four 3-pointers. Jacob Sonsalla added 15 points. Blake Drayton posted 10 points. Arlus Yalowizer added nine points. 

For Timber Lake, Trayden Beer finished with 18 points. Cole Ducheneaux posted 15 points and six rebounds. Braden Lawrence, Kanton Hunt and Broc Bauer scored six points apiece. Jackson Bigger had five points. 


Britton-Hecla 67, Tiospa Zina 38

BRITTON — Four players scored in double figures as Britton-Hecla defeated Tiospa Zina in Friday high school boys basketball action.

Britton-Hecla’s Daniel Person scored 19 points, while Graham Fosness scored 15 points. Will Richter and Nathan Folkman added 10 points apiece. Jordyn McGregor had seven points and Mitch Burger scored six points.

For Tiospa Zina, Ashden Sierra netted 17 points and hit five 3-pointers. Jeffery Heminger had eight points. Tayton Thompson scored six points, while Devon Bluehorse added five points. 


Flandreau 57, Chester 22

FLANDREAU — Three players scored in double figures to pace figures to pace Flandreau to a boys basketball win on Friday.

Luke Sheppard recorded 10 points and 12 rebounds. Paul Parsley added 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Micah Otto scored 10 points. Kody Kneebone had eight points.

For Chester, Layke Wold and J.J. Prorok scored six points apiece.


Deuel 53, Florence-Henry 44

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel pulled out the victory over Florence-Henry during Friday’s high school boys basketball action.

Troy Jenson tallied 17 points, seven steals and three rebounds, Gabe Sather had 10 points, nine rebounds, six steals and three blocks, while Caden Finnesand, Jaxon Peterreins, Caleb Ronne each recorded eight points in the win.

Carson Vavruska finished with 25 points for the Falcons. Ty Bergh totaled 10 points, while Trityn Sumner had four points in the loss.


Parkston 63, Tri-Valley 56

PARKSTON — James Deckert’s 21-point performance powered Parkston over Tri-Valley during Friday’s high school boys basketball action.

Deckert finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Brycen Bruening had 14 points and six assists, Reco Muilenburg totaled 14 points, Mason Jervik racked up nine rebounds while Elliot Leischner had six rebounds in the win.

TV’s Teagin Gacke tallied 19 points, Brady Jewett had 15 points, Ty Owen totaled six rebounds while Tristen Bunde recorded three assists in the loss.


Centerville 49, Canistota 39

CANISTOTA — Miles Eide poured in 18 points as Centerville defeated Canistota in high school boys basketball action Friday.

Eide had 18 points, nine rebounds, eight steals and three assists, Jase Brouwer finished with 12 points and two steals, Ethan Bozin had eight points, four rebounds and two steals, while Aiden Bobzin recorded seven points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in the win.

Canistota’s Brady Scott had 19 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals in the loss. Jake Merrill finished with seven points and eight rebounds, Austin Weber had six points, while Easton Miller totaled five points, three rebounds and four steals as well.


Hanson 80, Ethan 62

ALEXANDRIA — Four players scored in double figures as Hanson took down Ethan during Friday’s boys basketball action.

Tye Hernandez scored 20 points and seven rebounds, Sutton Dewald had 18 points and nine assists, Cole Dewald totaled 15 points, AJ Wilber finished with 14 points, while Ben Wilber had nine rebounds in the win.

Ethan’s Jack Bartscher and Davin Hohn each finished with 18 points, while Braedon Nebelsick tallied 16 points in the loss.


Bridgewater-Emery 42, Corsica-Stickney 39

CORSICA — Holden Wollman and Ben Weber powered the Bridgewater-Emery offense as the Huskies picked up a high school boys basketball victory Friday.

Wollman finished with 17 points, four assists and three steals, Ben Weber had 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists, Macklen Weber tallied nine rebounds, while Ryan Wollman dished three assists in the win.

Jarrett Olawsky totaled 16 points, Tyson Wentland had eight points and four rebounds. Jett Kemp tallied five points, four assists and three steals, Aiden Clites had five points, Brock Hinker pulled down six rebounds while Sawyer Schmidt had five rebounds in the loss.

 

West Central 51 Dell Rapids 44 

DELL RAPIDS — Connor Mebius and Will Kuhl combined for 44 points to power West Central to a boys basketball win over Dell Rapids on Friday.

Mebius finished with 27 points and Kuhl added 17 points. 

For Dell Rapids, Karson Paye posted 19 points. Jack Kloth added 13 points and eight rebounds. Tad Tjaden had nine points and eight boards.
