Dakota Valley 86, Hill City 56

PARKSTON — Class A No. 3 Dakota Valley rolled past Hill City at Friday’s Parkston Classic. 

The Panthers won their 59th consecutive game, extending their Class A boys basketball record for the longest winning streak. The all-time boys basketball record was set by Armour (64) from 1977-1980. 

Jaxson Wingert led Dakota Valley with 37 points and 11 rebounds. Luke Bruns added 15 points while Logan Collette chipped in with 11 points. 

Stats for Hill City were not reported.

 

Wall 60, Parkston 57

PARKSTON — Three players reached double-figures as Wall knocked off Parkston in the final game of the 2023 Parkston Classic. 

Brodi Sundall led Wall with 14 points and nine rebounds. Teelan Kjerstad added 14 points and eight rebounds while Jace Mohr chipped in with 13 points. 

Will Jodozi led Parkston with 27 points. Luke Bormann added 25 points and nine rebounds for the Trojans. 


Beresford 69, Parker 51

BERESFORD — Behind double-figure scoring from three players Beresford knocked off Parker in boys basketball action Friday. 

Sophomore Tiegen Nyhaug powered the Watchdogs with 18 points. Andrew Atwood added 16 points while Malachi James chipped in with 12 points. 

Ray Travnicek led Parker with 18 points with Landon Wieman adding 12 for the Pheasants. 


Canistota 59, Corsica-Stickney 30

CANISTOTA — A big night from Tage Ortman helped Canistota earn a win over Corsica-Stickney in boys basketball action Friday. 

Ortman led the Hawks with 28 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. Brandon Kjetland also reached double-figures with 11 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Brady Scott chipped in with seven points and two rebounds. 

Tyson Wentland led Corsica-Stickney with 11 points. Carter Wright added eight points while Tye Hosman contributed six points



Marshall, MN 73, Tea Area 67

MARSHALL, MN — Marshall Minnesota had three players reach double-figures as they picked up a win over Tea Area in boys basketball action Friday.

Sam Almas paced Tea Area with 19 points, five rebounds and two steals. Jessen Wiebenga added 11 points, seven rebounds and three steals while Garrett Wiebenga added seven points and eight rebounds. 

 

Sioux Falls Washington 66, Sioux Falls Jefferson 51

SIOUX FALLS — A big night from Thomas Hoffman helped Sioux Falls Washington earn a win over Sioux Falls Jefferson in boys basketball action Friday.

Hoffman powered the Warriors with 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Lucas Johnson added 13 points and two rebounds and Jhase Woods came off the bench to score 14 points and grab six rebounds. 

Damaris Fields led Jefferson with 17 points. Tyler Bohannon added 14 points and Dawson Sechser chipped in with 11 points.
