Sioux Valley 12, Redfield Area 2 (6 innings)

NORTHVILLE — An eight-run fourth inning powered Sioux Valley to a mercy rule victory, securing the final spot in the Class B state tournament.

Braden Danzeisen and Isaac Skovlund each drove in a run on two hits and a walk, Damon Uecker and Broden Teske each tallied two RBIs on one hit while Kellon Tucker drove in a run on a double in the win. Andrew Gunderson earned the victory on the mound, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk in five innings, striking out eight batters.

For Redfield Area, Hunter Binger allowed six runs on two hits and two walks in 0.2 innings. Chace Odland and Micah Zastrow each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Sioux Valley 1, Clark/Hamlin/Castlewood 0

NORTHVILLE — Levi Loban stole home on a passed ball to push Sioux Valley past Clark/Hamlin/Castlewood during Thursday’s Region 2B action.

Kameron Hauck took the victory on the mound for Sioux Valley, allowing just one hit and two walks in a complete game shutout, striking out 10 batters. Broden Teske and Kellon Tucker each tallied hits in the win.

For CHC, Josh Kannegieter took the loss allowing one unearned run on two hits and two walks in 6.2 innings, striking out 10. Jakob Steen tallied the only hit of the game for CHC.


Redfield Area 4, Warner/Ipswich/Northville 3

NORTHVILLE — A four-run third inning powered Redfield Area to an upset victory over Warner/Ipswich/Northville in Region 2B action Thursday.

Chace Odland earned the victory on the mound in 5.2 shutout innings pitched, allowing just two hits while striking out seven. Micah Zastrow tallied two hits, a double and a walk, Odland and Zach Bonin each tallied doubles while Hunter Binger tallied a hit in the win.

For WIN, Brayden Kroll took the loss allowing four unearned runs on five hits and a walk in six innings pitched, striking out nine. Chays Mansfield tallied two hits while Jacob Schmidt drove in a run on one hit in the loss.
