CANTON — Class A No. 4 Vermillion picked up a season-opening win over Canton on Monday.

Vermillion’s Chandler Cleveland finished with 17 points and seven rebounds. Taylor Reuvers added 13 points and seven assists. Brooke Jensen posted eight points and five rebounds. Brooklyn Voss scored seven points.

For Canton, Landree Meister scored six points and Brynn Oakland had five points. Danica Rozeboom grabbed eight rebounds. 

Sisseton 63, Great Plains Lutheran 33 

SISSETON — Four players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 2 Sisseton to a girls basketball win on Monday.

Sisseton’s Krista Langager finished with 17 points and Hannah Leverson scored 14 points. Chloe Langager added 12 points and Emmalee Nielsen scored 10 points.

For GPL, Halle Bauer scored 11 points. Abby Kjenstad and Madeline Prahl posted eight points apiece. Katherine Prahl scored six points.
