IPSWICH — Northwestern cross-country runners Ella Boekelheide and Lincoln Woodring won their respective races at Wednesday’s conference meet run at the Split Rock Cross Country Club. 

Boekelheide ran the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes and 16.37 seconds, well ahead of Frederick Area’s Morgan Sumption (19:54) and Ipswich’s Madisyn Gelhaus (20:14). Northwestern’s Tara Blachford (20:29) and Warner’s Kennadee Wagner (20:29) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Woodring won the boys race 17:09, ahead of Frederick Area’s Milo Sumption (17:20) and Ipswich’s Xavier Kadlec (17:29). Northwestern’s Nathan Melius (17:52) and Langford Area’s Kalen Godal (18:09) rounded out the top-five individuals. 

A tight battle in the girls team race with Frederick Area winning with 16 points, ahead of Ipswich (19) and Northwestern (21). Warner (28) and Faulkton Area (46) rounded out the top-five teams. 

The Northwestern boys won the team title scoring 12 points, ahead of Frederick Area (23) and Faulkton (30). Ipswich (36) and Leola (41) rounded out the top-five boys teams.
