Feb. 28 Basketball Roundup - Ryker Erstad lifts Arlington behind 48-point performance

Arlington 79, Iroquois/Doland 53

ARLINGTON — Ryker Erstad’s monster performance helped lead Arlington past Iroquois/Doland in a Region 3B basketball game on Monday. Arlington will play Region 3B No. 2 seed Castlewood on Tuesday.

Erstad scored 48 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and six steals, while Britt Carlson tallied 10 points. Caden Letsche added nine points.

The Chiefs were led by Logan Peskey with 22 points and six rebounds, while Diego Preito scored 10 points and five boards. Tristan Dykstra grabbed 13 rebounds.

 

Waverly-South Shore 52, Lake Preston 19

WAVERLY — Waverly-South Shore raced past Lake Preston for a Region 3B boys basketball win on Monday. Waverly-South Shore will play Region 3B No. 1 seed De Smet on Tuesday.

Troy Kneeland led the Coyotes with 13 points, while Dan Dalton and Landon Maag each added seven points.

Lake Preston was led by Josh McMasters with 11 points.

 

Britton-Hecla 62, Wilmot 38

BRITTON — Aidan Fredrickson and Dawson Treeby combined for 31 points to lift Britton-Hecla to a Region 1B boys basketball win over Wilmot on Monday. Britton-Hecla plays Region 1B No. 1 seed Aberdeen Christian on Tuesday. 

Fredrickson finished with 21 points and hit four 3-pointers. Treeby added 10 points, while Landon Carlson scored nine points. BoDell Davidson and Ashton Mills scored eight points apiece. 

Wilmot’s Trey Jurgens finished with 16 points, while Parker Steege scored eight points. Albert Heminger added five points. 


Bridgewater-Emery 60, Sioux Falls Lutheran 36

EMERY — Bridgewater-Emery advanced in Region 4B boys basketball play with a win over Sioux Falls Lutheran on Monday. The Huskies will play at Dell Rapids St. Mary on Tuesday. 

Sutton Arend led the Huskies with 25 points and five boards. Camdyn Stoterau added 10 points and six rebounds. Sam Hofer finished with eight points and six assists. 


Sioux Falls Roosevelt 62, Aberdeen Central 57

ABERDEEN — Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Roosevelt outlasted Aberdeen Central for a boys basketball win on Monday. 

Micah Johnson led Roosevelt with 19 points and eight rebounds. Vance Borchers added 12 points, six rebounds and four steals. Marcus Phillips and Thoralingo Gilo scored eight points apiece. Sam McMillan added eight rebounds and four points.

Aberdeen Central’s Sam Rohlfs finished with 14 points and five boards. Alec Voegele added 11 points and eight rebounds. Jameson Palmer, Spencer Barr and A.J. Hase scored eight points apiece. Jackson Dorsett added six points, while Brady Rohrbach grabbed six rebounds.
