Flandreau Cardinals 10, Madison Broncos 1

FLANDREAU — Flandreau pounded out 15 hits as the Cardinals defeated Madison in Cornbelt League action on Sunday.

Luke Gassman had four hits and two RBIs for the Cardinals, JaColby Anderson added two RBIs on two hits and a walk, Bret Severtson had three RBIs on a homer and a walk, Paul Clark and Keith Cutler each drove in a run on two hits while Jacob Patterson added two hits and a walk in the win.

Severtson earned the win on the mound in a complete game performance, allowing one run on nine hits, striking out five.

For Madison, Tyler Tappe took the loss in five innings of work, allowing seven runs on 13 hits.

Ty Jorgenson had three hits, a double, and an RBI, Heith Williams batted 3-for-5 with a triple while Dawson Bakker added two hits, one double, in the loss.


Canova Gang 10, Flandreau Blue Teal 0 (6 innings)

CANOVA — Garrett Gassman and Jackson Remmers poured in seven RBIs as the Canova Gang blanked the Flandreau Blue Teal in Cornbelt League action on Sunday.

Gassman batted 2-for-4 with a homer, driving in four runs, Remmers added three RBIs on three hits while Riley Genzlinger and Luke Koepsell each had three hits and an RBI.

Koepsell earned the win on the mound in a complete game shutout, allowing four hits and a walk, striking out eight.

For Flandreau, Emmot Nathan allowed six runs on 10 hits and six walks, striking out five in five innings. Kolby Peters, B Byrum, Nathan and Sam Gassman each tallied hits in the loss.


Canova 12, Flandreau Blue Teal 7 (7 innings)

CANOVA — Canova pulled away from Flandreau to sweep the Blue Teal in Cornbelt League action on Sunday.

Riley Genzlinger had three RBIs on two hits, Jackson Remmers drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, Justin Miller added two RBIs while Jared Miller, Garrett Gassman, Derek Miller, Cole Gassman and Kalub Carmichel each had an RBI in the win.

Jared Miller tossed three innings in the win, allowing five runs on four hits, striking out five.

For Flandreau, Brayden Byrum allowed 12 runs on 10 hits and five walks, striking out three in the loss.

Dane Mediger, Micah Otto and Tristan Peters each tallied two RBIs on one hit, including a homer by Mediger, Byrum added an RBI-single while Mason Riley totaled two hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 14, Hartford-Humboldt Gamecocks 9

HUMBOLDT — Dell Rapids blasted five homers to beat the Hartford-Humboldt Gamecocks in Cornbelt League action on Sunday.

Ty Hoglund batted 3-for-5 with a homer, walk, and three RBIs, Austin Henry and Kason Syverson each added three RBIs on two hits, one homer, Landon Ruesink hit a solo home run, Josh Roemen added two hits, including a solo homer, Reece Arbogast drove in a run on two hits, Treyse Eastman added three hits, a walk and an RBI while Carter Gullickson collected two hits in the win.

Syverson pitched four innings for the Mudcats, allowing five runs on eight hits and four walks, striking out five.

For the Gamecocks, JD Kirchner allowed eight runs on 11 hits and four walks in five innings, striking out five.

Jonah Rechtenbaugh had three hits, including a triple and a homer, driving in five runs, Broc Haldeman added four hits and an RBI, Gunnar Alfson recorded two RBIs on a hit and a walk while Devon Garry had three hits, two doubles, and an RBI in the loss.


Lennox Bandits 10, Parker Ringnecks 0 (8 innings)

LENNOX — Lennox pounded out 16 hits as it notched a State Line League win over Parker on Sunday.

Justin Underwood had two RBIs on two hits, Brett Duncan added three RBIs on two hits, Nick Zabel and Brandon Otte each had two hits and an RBI, Bailey Ludens, Peyton Garbers and Isaac Bambas each had two hits while Levi Parker drove in two runs on a hit and a walk in the win.

Garbers earned the win on the mound in six shutout innings, allowing one hit while striking out seven.

For Parker, Zach Schrank took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and three walks, striking out five. Jevin Erickson and Seth Thennis each had a hit in the loss.


Hartford-Humboldt Wood Ducks 7, Dell Rapids PBR 2

DELL RAPIDS — A seven-run inning powered the Hartford-Humboldt Wood Ducks over Dell Rapids PBR in Cornbelt League action on Sunday.

Ben Honkomp took the win on the mound for the Wood Ducks, allowing one run on four hits and four walks, striking out two.

Keaton Vessells had two RBIs on a homer, Jearl Jesson added two hits and an RBI, Camden McDonald tallied three RBIs on a double and a homer, Curtis Flint and Jacob Ellens each had two hits while Braden Herr tallied an RBI-single in the win.

For PBR, Tanner Solberg took the loss in 4.2 innings, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and a walk, striking out three. Zack Puetz had three hits and an RBI in the loss.


Groton Locke Electric 9, Northville Merchants 7

NORTHVILLE — Groton pounded out 18 hits to beat Northville in Northern Plains League action on Sunday.

Bradin Althoff led Groton with four RBIs on three hits, Brian Hansen batted 5-for-5 with an RBI, Ben Althoff added two RBIs on two hits, Alex Morris collected two hits, a walk and an RBI while Brevin Fliehs, Ty Sieber and Jonah Schmidt each had two hits in the win.

Palmer Boyd took the win on the mound in six shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk, striking out nine.

For Northville, Ashton Remily took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing three runs on nine hits and two walks, striking out four.

Cash Bahr had three RBIs on two hits, Max Waltman drove in a run on two hits and two walks while Ethan Beyers collected an RBI-single in the loss.


Salem Cubs 13, Baltic River Dawgs 3 (7 innings)

SALEM — Aiden Scheetz struck out 11 batters as Salem cruised to a Cornbelt League win over Baltic on Sunday.

Scheetz allowed just two hits and three walks in five shutout innings, striking out 11 in the winning effort.

Kyle Tuschen had three RBIs on three hits for the Cubs, Cole Cheeseman added three RBIs on two hits and a walk, Michael Zeman and Owen Alley each had three RBIs on a  hit, combining for five walks as well, Cody Lofswold had two hits and a walk while Dexter Payne added an RBI-single in the win.

For Baltic, Blake Hookie took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing four runs on four hits and six walks, striking out two.

Jon Wilhelmsen had two hits while Cael Swanson, Dalton Garbers and Gunner Schultz each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.

 

Yankton Lakers 10, Menno MadFrogs 9

YANKTON — Yankton hung on to beat Menno in South Central League action on Sunday.

Cade Sudbeck earned the win on the mound in three innings pitched, allowing one run on two hits and a walk, striking out two.

Will Rauch, Tristan Fitzsimmons and Mac Ryken each had two hits and an RBI, Colin Zahrbock added two RBIs on one hit, Waylon McKnight recorded two RBIs on a double and a homer while Drew Ryken and Rugby Ryken each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Menno, Connor Merriam took the loss in five innings pitched, allowing 10 runs on 10 hits and two walks, striking out one.

Merriam had three hits and three RBIs, Dylan Lehr collected three hits, Trent Guthmiller had two RBIs on one hit while Kyle Munkvold and Brayden Sattler each drove in a run in the loss.

 

Harrisburg Woodies 5, Windom (Minn.) Pirates 2

WINDOM — Dalton Lehnen struck out eight batters and threw five shutout innings as Harrisburg topped Windom, Minnesota, in amateur baseball action on Sunday.

Lehnen allowed just one hit in five shutout innings, striking out eight in the win.

Michael Oakland and Lehnen each had two hits and an RBI, including a solo homer by Oakland, Noah Boschee had two doubles while Kris Regas, Isaac Loosmore and JT Miller each had an RBI in the win.
