Faith 41, Timber Lake 27

BUFFALO — Faith outscored Timber Lake 26-10 in the second half for a Region 8B girls basketball win on Tuesday. Faith plays Harding County in a SoDak 16 qualifying game on Thursday. 

Faith’s TyAnn Mortenson finished with a game-high 17 points. Tandee Nelson and Raynee Jones scored six points apiece. 

Timber Lake’s Jaylee Schoelerman scored 12 points. Natalie Lawrence added five points.


Harding County 62, Dupree 12

BUFFALO — A balanced scoring attack helped Class B No. 3 Harding County defeat Dupree in Region 8B tournament action Tuesday. Harding County will take on Faith Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifying game.

Kamry Padden and Bailey Verhulst each netted 12 points for the Ranchers, adding a combined 12 steals in the win. Raelee Hunsucker tallied nine points while Macey Wendt poured in eight points as well.

Dupree’s stats were not reported.


Avon 42, Viborg-Hurley 38

HURLEY — Lila Vanderlei and Rilyn Thury combined for 26 points in Avon’s upset win over Viborg-Hurley in Region 4B tournament action Tuesday. Avon will face Parkston in a SoDak 16 qualifying match Tuesday.

Vanderlei led the Pirates with 16 points while Thury added 10 points in the win.

VH’s Charley Nelson recorded 19 points, four rebounds and two assists while  Kendra Gilbert had eight points and three assists in the loss.


Deubrook Area 78, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 54

WHITE — Five players scored in double-figures as Deubrook Area ran past Oldham-Ramona-Rutland for a Region 2B girls basketball game Tuesday. Deubrook Area will play Wessington Springs in a SoDak 16 qualifying game on Thursday. 

Kylee Johnson led the Dolphins with 16 points while Matte Bauman and Mataya Gouws each had 15 points. Neely Gustad added 13 points and Zoey Molengraaf chipped in with 10 points. 

Bailey Hyland led ORR with 21 points and Brynlee Lingbeck finished with 11 points.

 

Wessington Springs 49, Castlewood 48

WHITE — Kerstynn Heim and Mariah Messmer combined for 26 points in Wessington Springs Region 2B victory over Castlewood Tuesday. Wessington Springs will face Deubrook Area Thursday with a trip to the SoDak 16 on the line.

Heim led the Spartans with 14 points while Messmer added 12 points. Ashlyn Weber and Kendall Kolousek each had seven points in the win.

Castlewood’s Sophia Kudrna tallied a game-high 20 points while Ava Ruml added 18 points in the loss.


De Smet 53, Estelline/Hendricks 29

DE SMET — A balanced scoring attack helped De Smet earn a Region 2B win over Estelline/Hendricks on Tuesday. De Smet plays Arlington Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifying game. 

Hazel Luethmers led the Bulldogs with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Alyssa Asleson added 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and eight steals. 

Ayla Texley led Estelline/Hendricks with 12 points and Danelyn Greene added seven points and nine rebounds. 


Arlington 49, Wolsey-Wessington 38

DE SMET — Jaelyn Huntimer powered Arlington to a Region 2B girls basketball win on Tuesday. Arlington will play De Smet on Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifying game. 

Huntimer finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and four 3-pointers. Ellisyn Vincent added nine points and five rebounds. Emarie Vincent recorded five points, while Emma Spilde added four points, four steals and six rebounds. 

For Wolsey-Wessington, Maria Nelson recorded 11 points and five rebounds. Shea Uttecht had 10 points and six rebounds. Macy Wasecheck had four points and six rebounds. Kendal Uttecht had six points and four rebounds. 


Centerville 55, Irene-Wakonda 24

CENTERVILLE — Izzie Eide powered Class B No. 1 Centerville to a Region 4B girls basketball victory Tuesday. Centerville will face Gayville-Volin in a SoDak 16 qualifying game Thursday.

Eide tallied 24 points, five assists and four rebounds, Althea Gust totaled 16 points and four rebounds, Emma Marshall had eight points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Tessa Eide had eight rebounds in the win.

IW’s Julia Sees had six points while Emily Oien tallied five points in the loss.


Great Plains Lutheran 43, Elkton-Lake Benton 18

WATERTOWN — Katherine and Madeline Prahl combined for 24 points in Great Plains Lutheran’s win over Elkton-Lake Benton Tuesday. Great Plains Lutheran will face Sioux Valley in a SoDak 16 qualifying game Thursday.

Katherine Prahl led with 14 points while Madeline Prahl collected 10 points. Esta Cameron recorded eight points in the win as well.

ELB’s Charlie Thooft totaled seven points in the loss.


Sioux Valley 71, Deuel 32

VOLGA — Four players reached double figures in Sioux Valley’s Region 2A tournament victory Tuesday. Sioux Valley will face Great Plains Lutheran in a SoDak 16 qualifying game Thursday.

Kailey Cradduck led the Cossacks with 18 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four assists, Keyra Kruse collected 16 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two assists, Talya Vincent added 13 points, Amari Ward reached 10 points and three rebounds, while Liberty Trygstad had eight points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists in the win.

Deuel’s Camdyn Peterreins had a team-high 13 points and three rebounds while Morgan Theisen tallied six points and six boards in the loss.


Scotland-Menno 49, Bon Homme 42

MENNO — Lexie McNinch’s double-double powered Scotland-Menno past Bon Homme for a Region 5A tournament victory Tuesday. Scotland-Menno will face Mount Vernon-Plankinton in a SoDak 16 qualifying game Thursday.

McNinch finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and four steals for the Trappers, Trinity Bietz added 11 points, Ellyana Ulmer tallied nine points while Nora Robb had five steals and four assists in the win.

BH’s Kenadee Kozak netted 18 points in the loss.


Faulkton Area 49, Sully Buttes 32

FAULKTON — Carley Cotton’s 21-points helped Faulkton Area defeat Sully Buttes for a Region 6B tournament victory Tuesday. Faulkton Area will face Tiospaye Topa Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifying game.

Cotton finished with 21 points, six steals and five rebounds for the Trojans, Anika Mueller had 11 points and eight rebounds while Presleigh Martinmaas tallied nine points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals in the win.

SB’s Payge Bakker had 15 points, nine rebounds and four steals while Olivia Olson collected 12 points, six steals and five rebounds in the loss.


Northwestern 52, Waverly-South Shore 32

MELLETTE — Three players scored in double figures as Northwestern advanced in Region 1B action. Northwestern will face Wilmot Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifying game.

Ashley Haven led the charge for Northwestern tallying 15 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks, Adriana Ratigan collected 13 points, five rebounds and three blocks, Tara Blachford had 12 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Sophia Troske recorded nine points and four steals for the Wildcats.

WSS’s Jaina Johnson totaled eight points, Carlee Mushitz added six points while Annie Stricherz and Jolene Krantz each had five points in the loss.


Waubay/Summit 55, Tiospa Zina 54

SUMMIT — Three players reached double figures as Waubay/Summit slipped past Tiospa Zina in Region 1B action. Waubay/Summit will face Warner Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifying game. 

Caley Bolk paced Waubay Summit with 19 points. Faith Larson finished with 16 points and Brianna Lindholm added 13 points. 

Lattice Rodlund led Tiospa Zina with 22 points. Maya Deutsch finished with 17 points and Journee Haley pitched in with 10 points. 


Lyman 49, Kimball-White Lake 23

PRESHO — Three players scored in double figures as Class B No. 2 Lyman took down Kimball-White Lake during Region 5B tournament action. Lyman will face Burke in a SoDak 16 qualifying game Thursday.

Jordyn Scott led the Raiders with 15 points, three rebounds, four steals and three assists, Mak Scott collected 13 points, five rebounds and two steals while Brooke Palmer had 12 points and nine boards in the win.

KWL’s Summer Skluzak had 11 points and Rylee McCord finished with seven points.


Burke 68, Marty 49

BURKE — Emmie Hausmann’s 22-point performance lifted Burke to a Region 5B victory over Marty Tuesday. Burke will face Lyman to qualify for the SoDak 16 Thursday.

Hausmann finished with 22 points and five rebounds, Kailee Frank tallied 15 points, six rebounds and three assists, Paige Bull totaled 14 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and four steals while Olivia Bull brought down six rebounds in the win.

Marty’s Zoe Waln had a game-high 23 points while Gabby Zephier tallied 14 points in the loss.


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 63, Lower Brule 25 

NEW HOLLAND — Three players scored in double figures to pace Andes Central/Dakota Christian to a Region 5B girls basketball win on Tuesday. ACDC will play Corsica-Stickney in a SoDak 16 qualifying game on Thursday.

ACDC’s Halle Olson finished with 20 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots. Mahpiya Irving added 12 points. Leah Brown had 11 points, while Nadia VanZuidam had seven points. Gabbie Olson grabbed six rebounds and added five steals. Brown had five steals. 

For Lower Brule, Lael Middletent had 12 points and Brilyn LaRoche finished with 10 points.


Highmore-Harrold 61, Potter County 49

HIGHMORE — Jada Baloun’s 25-point double-double lifted Highmore-Harrold over Potter County in Region 6B tournament action Tuesday. Highmore-Harrold will face Herreid-Selby Area in a SoDak 16 qualifying match.

Baloun recorded 25 points and 11 rebounds in the win, Addison McDonnell totaled 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Elle Stagg netted nine points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Autumn Fallis had eight points, seven assists and three steals in the win.

PC’s stats were not reported.


Vermillion 71, Canton 36

VERMILLION — Three players scored in double figures to power Vermillion to a Region 4A girls basketball win on Tuesday. Vermillion will play Dakota Valley in a SoDak 16 qualifying game on Thursday.

Vermillion’s Taylor Reuvers finished with 32 points and 13 rebounds. Brooke Jensen added 16 points and five rebounds. Kasey Hanson added 13 points and six assists.

Canton’s Jenna Vande Weerd had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Rhead had seven points and Camryn Skiles added five points.


Dakota Valley 94, Beresford 68

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Ella Otten and Aubree Worden combined for 40 points in Class A No. 4 Dakota Valley’s win over Beresford in Region 4A tournament action. Dakota Valley will face Vermillion Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifying game.

Otten and Worden each netted 20 points in the win, with Otten adding six assists and three steals. Bella Stokes recorded 16 points, Cam Sommervold tallied 14 points while Katie Betsworth had 13 points in the win. Emersen Mead brought down 18 rebounds as well.

Beresford’s Harley Koth tallied 20 points, Ella Merriman had 19 points while Lily Seivert totaled 15 points in the loss.


Rapid City Christian 73, Lead-Deadwood 27

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures to pace Rapid City Christian to a Region 7A girls basketball win on Tuesday. Rapid City Christian will play Belle Fourche in a SoDak 16 qualifying game on Thursday. 

Rapid City Christian’s Sadie Marshall finished with 15 points and Brynn Casey added 12 points. Liza Kieffer scored 11 points and Nora Kieffer totaled 10 points.

Lead-Deadwood stats were not reported. 


Milbank 63, Webster Area 28

MILBANK — Three players reached double figures as Milbank defeated Webster Area in Region 1A action Tuesday. Milbank will take on Aberdeen Roncailli Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifying game.

Isabelle Anderson knocked down five 3-pointers on her way to a game high 24 points. Tyra Berry finished with 14 points, four rebounds and two assists while Siera Wenzl chipped in with 11 points. 

Harley Johnson led Webster Area with 12 points and four rebounds. 


Parkston 57, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 29

PARKSTON — Banced scoring attack lifted Parkston to a Region 5B win over Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Tuesday. Parkston will play Avon Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifying game. 

Berkeley Ziebart led Parkston with nineteen points, four rebounds and three steals. Lauren Ziebart scored 16 points and Morgan Maxwell chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds. 

Mia Reiner paced TDA with 15 points and four rebounds. 


Lennox 50, Elk Point-Jefferson 41

ELK POINT — Lennox outlasted Elk Point-Jefferson in Region 4A girls basketball action on Tuesday. Lennox will play Sioux Falls Christian in a SoDak 16 qualifying game on Thursday.

Lennox’s Ryan Hanssen finished with 16 points, five rebounds and three steals. Andie Peters added 11 points and three 3-pointers. Tori Gerdes had eight points, three rebounds and three steals. Karlie Bosma posted seven points and four rebounds. Libby Kranz added five rebounds and three points.

For EPJ, Bentlee Kollbaum had 13 points and five rebounds. Cera Schmitz totaled 10 points.


McCook Central/Montrose 57, Hanson 36

SALEM — Cami McGuire and Natalie Lueth powered McCook Central/Montrose to a Region 5A girls basketball win on Tuesday. MCM will play Wagner in a SoDak 16 qualifying game on Thursday.

McGuire finished with 24 points, five assists and three steals. Lueth added 11 points and three 3-pointers. Ella DeKnikker tallied nine points, five steals and four rebounds. Ashtyn DeKnikker added six points, while Mya Morrison scored five points. 

For Hanson, Kylie Haiar finished with 16 points and six rebounds. Grace Arend added 11 points.
